In a piece published in Townhall, Martinez defines what 'violence' is, differentiating between what he calls 'sensless' violence & the sort of violence that at times is necessary for self defense or to save the lives of others. Martinez maintains that there is a 'profound moral difference' betweeen the two & lists 5specific personal experiences in Iraq to illuminate his point (mass graves, tongueless man, adrenaline fueled fedayeen saddam, human experiment picturs & bomb making materia in a mospue. (US soldures discovered the reason for their enemies almost superhuman crazyness in fighting battles was due to the use of powerful adrenaline inducing drugs. That the zombie like attackers came to fight & die.)

So? What violence is OK? One that is used to destroy or one that is used to save self or save others? And what kind of violence is US using in Iraq?

In the 1990's, the same people that wanted the Kyoto Treaty had been blocking nuclear power even when nuclear power is cleanest form of energy around. Former Vice President Gore showed to America he was trying to destroy America's nuclear power industry. And in committees, Gore and his buddies quickly rejected scientists' ideas of using nuclear energy to fight CO2 emissions. Now (ten to fifteen years later), many of those same global warming proponents now want to use nuclear energy to reduce CO2 emissions. Those global warming proponents don't stop to think that America could be building new nuclear reactors right now if they never opened their mouths. They caused a 20 year delay.

Gore refused the idea of using nuclear power plants to make cheap hydrogen fuel for cars. (During non-peak hours, nuclear power plants can be configured to generate hydrogen which can be used to power cars). The only emmission from burning hydrogen in modified car engines is pure water.

But hey, asking is free!

And do you take some kind of evaluation test to get placed in a certain spot? Or can you choose?

It would appear Thames Valley have appointed these young people as PCSOs, I know the government wants policing on the cheap, but surely this is ridiculous.

Do you think the so called special forces in America are any good. I reckon the Salvation army is harder than your average green beret or delta force tossa. If it wasn't for technology the 300 spartans could take the 7th cavalry ( even with their abrams tanks).

Question: Is there anyone else out there who is sick and tired of the Iraq War and wish it would go away?

Question Details: Is there anyone else out there sick and tired of the never-ending Iraq War and wish it would go away? What goes on in Iraq does not affect me at all and I'm sick about hearing the problems the US Soliders are going through,(they don't pay my Bills, the Hell with them). Most americans are not in the Military and have no desire to ever join. The newsmedia should report about other things and they should ignore what happens in little tiny Iraq,it's on the other side of the world, what happens there dosen't affect me and I don't care about the american soliders, they don't protect me. I live in a High Crime Area (Oakland,Ca.)those Soliders should be patrolling my streets instead of a faraway place like Iraq.

(my answer follows)

My top picks are:
1. Fred Thompson. I like the fact that while he adheres to true conservatism, he also understood as a Senator that it meant voting independently on social and economic issues on which he does not agree with the rest of his delegation. I'd like to know his clear position on abortion, however. I basically consider myself libertarian, but I don't support abortion at all!
2. Mike Huckabee: does not support abortion, does not believe in raising taxes and implementing business-unfriendly strategies, and (while not a great reason) a nice guy.
3. Ron Paul: I don't agree with his stance on the war. I believe even though the U.S. isn't exactly managing the war in Iraq well, we have a job that we must finish or it will be detrimental to the security of our nation. I do like his non-hypocritical track record of supporting tight border security not gov't raising spending except when necessary.

I don't like Giuliani and Romney. They're dishonest and "flip-flopping."

as the cold hearted killers that they were portrayed. I know for a fact that Vietnam vets came back very depressed often times. Please give me your opinion of the movie. And your view of the cold heartedness of the soldiers in the film.

Good movie, but I think it was a little lame to show them like that.

The Clinton administration will probably be remembered as the most corrupt president in American history. Aside from being the ONLY popular elected president ever impeached, Clinton's legacy extends to little more than widespread corruption.
