Yes, they do the regular training, and then if they are selected for the special forces, they receive special training, which is much more intense, and covers a lot of things regular training does not.

I'm afraid everyone is required to do basic training. When you go into advanced infantry and parachute school, you will wish you were back in the ever so ez and even pleasant basic training.
Most of the cadre in basic have been through a lot and don;t really sweat the small stuff. It's the assitants who haven't been in the army long who can make your life a little nasty. I went into the army in March, came out the other end in October, having finished
basic training, advanced infantry and combat training, then on to jump school
which carried its own little tortures.
If they know you are destined for special forces, they might go a little harder on you but after basic it's all so hard who would notice?

Every enlisted person in the Army goes through Basic Training. Soldiers in Special Forces, Ranger, Airborne etc. go through further training which is much more extensive and intense than Basic is.

Everyone who goes into the U.S. Military goes through basic training, and advanced individual training in the MOS. Spl Forces Training is specialized training only for the fittest of the fit. Many wash out. I think the ratio is for every 10 Spl Forces trainees, maybe two will get to wear the Green Beret.

You don't go from Civilian to Special Forces, you join the Army as a normal recruit / then you become a common soldier, then if you are considerded good enough you might be let volunteer for SF training, if you pass then you get the right to wear the Green Beret.

I should think that aside from the original regular training, yes they probably go through harder training, not only physical but in many other aspects as well.

Same ole basic training. SFAS is in a league of its own though. Most 18X's don't make it through. Try a few years in the regular Army or a Ranger Bat then try for SF.

First they go through regular boot, then they qualify for special forces, then they go through another boot. A much, much harder and longer boot. This goes for all special ops forces in every branch of every military.
