Do you think the so called special forces in America are any good. I reckon the Salvation army is harder than your average green beret or delta force tossa. If it wasn't for technology the 300 spartans could take the 7th cavalry ( even with their abrams tanks).

Daniel f. For your information the civil war against your British masters was only lost by your homeland because the rebels gained help from the French and Spanish who were sinking British ships. Otherwise you would still be singing rule britannia with pride and not being likened to the French.

The American soldier has a reputation with respect to friendly fire attacks that rival no other soldier. If I remember my history, America joined in WW1 because the Lucitania was sunk by the German navy, this merely shortened the war. I`m all for America believing that it is the peacemaker, I wish it wouldn`t drag other countries into those situations. Afganistan is a mistake, so is Iraq, whose next ?

Are you suggesting that the British military never had friendly fire incidents? You should read Robert Crisp's "Brazen Chariots" about his accounts of friendly fire incidents between tanks of Commonwealth armies during the war campaign of the Second World War. And how about the accidental attack by Air Fleet Arm torpedo planes on HMS Sheffield, when they mistook her for German battleship Bismarck?

The American special forces are responsible each and every single day for countless successes. The thing of it is they do their job and you never find out about most of them.

As for their "failures," most of them are only classified as such due to an overzealous media presence and a hypocritical international community. Now it seems that our military is not being restricted by rules of engagement, but also the P.C. police. Everybody wants to be protected and "to get the bad guys," but no one wants to see the ends at which that is accomplished. In fact, Osama would have been dead long before 9-11 if it hadn't been for the ridiculous media hording the political scene with a tabloid reports of a Presidential affair which crippled the administration to make an important decision fearing a backlash.

I am not sure but what I know is that all the brave men and women who risk their lives for other human being's freedom have my respect. It is much more tougher to do this job than to come on yahoo and compare militaries. You can sit and judge all you wish our American capabilities while we are fighting daily for freedom of speech. I don't know where you are from but I also respect our allies from England, Romania, Ughanda, Austrailia, and etc who also fight with us. The Salvation Army is a church and they are good in their own respects. Instead of critquing us why don't you get off your butt and do something to help others than to make yourself feel big and bad.

I wasn't aware that you were from another country until i was reading some of these other answers but if that's the case then why do you even care? Oh yea, because the United States military is the most elite, precise and powerful military in the world and i guess we have accumulated a lot of haters because of it.Not true you say? Well, Are there any questions on here saying that any AMERICAN soldiers could whoop any other soldiers *** from another country? No, because we know we can, we don't have to sit here and try and make an argument about it because there isn't one. Every branch has its benefits and flaws, why are you picking SF? 300 Spartans? You are watching too much television buddy, they really didn't have steroids back then you know.

I'm not knocking the American Special Forces - I'm sure they are good at what they do, but I don't think they would ever beat the SAS. Best in the world.

They'd be taking their arses home in a bag if they ever tried it on with the British Special Forces boys.

Do you think YOU could pass the mental and physical tests to be in ANY American, British, or French Special Forces? I bet you never could get through the Air Force's basic training for the women.
DON'T Post your address like the previous person said to test your theory. THAT would be a BAD RISK!!
