Is it a felony if you do not replace your driving license when you move to another state? (provided that your old license has not expired). Is there a maximum allowable time period after which you must get a new license? What would happen if you are stopped by the police?

Why is it that they aren't getting the best possible care, without question, without delay, without concern for the cost? The military ought to be seeking them out to be sure they are getting everything they need rather than vets and their families having to wade through red tape and delays to get it. Why are soldiers families cared for in a first class fashion while they are on duty....why are they on food stamps, welfare, living in substandard housing...they ought to be very well taken care of.

for one thing it is a option to have it. the fact that people complain about it is totally wrong. its only there to insure you have coverage when your in an accident or sick. you pay for it, thats how it works, stop blaming the companys , they have a business to help people and on the way to make some money..if the gov't wants to make health care free then let it be. otherwise, why do people complain about health insurance companies

Because of an issue, I paid my September rent late. My landlord tells me 2 days ago that he lost the money order I gave him. According to him, he searched and searched his office and cannot find it. I know he has it because I have the carbon copy and he told me he had received it after I left it in his mail slot on the 15th.

At any rate, I want to know who is at fault here. My landlord wants me to go back to the Currency Exchange where I got the money order and get a replacement. I can't do that until 45 days after date of purchase (That's what the carbon copy says) and my landlord wants his money now.

If you ask me, I already paid so it's his fault he lost my money. I don't know what to do and I do not want to pay double rent.

Part of me thinks he is trying to double-dip. He hasn't tried in the past and this is the third time I've paid with a money order and not just cash. 1st time I've had a problem with him losing my money. Any ideas? Thanks in advance (-:

I once heard a story, second-hand, that an old guy was drunk driving and got pulled over by a cop.

Before the cop could do anything, the old guy got out of his car, tossed his car keys to the side of the road, then pulled out a whiskey bottle and took a huge long swallow. Then he threw the bottle crashing to the pavement.

The cop cursed him, because apparently he could not prove DUI. After all, the guy was no longer in possession of his car keys, was outside his vehicle, and could have become intoxicated only while drinking from the bottle while outside his vehicle.

Thoughts? (Especially interested in police officer views)

Oh, and again I stress that I "heard about this". May not have happened. Who knows.

I had heard about and now just read a story about how a liberal in the film commision board for San Fran denied access to the USMC's Silent Drill team use of a street to film a recruiting video.

San Francisco is, once again, the center of a controversy over how city leaders treat the U.S. military. This time, it involves an elite group of Marines who wanted to film a recruitment commercial in San Francisco on the anniversary of 9/11.

The tension has been building in the two weeks since the city turned away members of the Silent Drill Platoon, and it boiled over Monday afternoon at a meeting of the San Francisco Film Commission.

The U.S. Marine Silent Drill Platoon performed Monday morning in New York's Times Square. They filmed part of a recruitment commercial through the start of the morning rush hour -- something they could not do in San Francisco on the anniversary of 9/11.

Can you really sue someone because of slander? If someone goes around and says things that arent true, how serious are the consequences?

This means that since our government is fond of the outsource route, why not outsource our whole government and have it run by the corporations. Have police, and if you need them you pay. Have schools and if you need them you pay. Have Hospitals and Libraries etc... that are self sustaining entities.

Or are we already close to a Corpocracy?

President Bush on Thursday signed legislation designed to make college more affordable for students from poor and middle-class families, swallowing objections to a bill that enjoyed veto-proof majorities in Congress.
The new law achieves a goal Bush shares with lawmakers: boosting aid for needy students. The action allows both the Bush administration and Congress to say they have done something to ease the burden of paying for college, a popular political priority.
"I have the honor of signing a bill that will help millions of low-income Americans earn a college-degree," Bush said in a ceremony, with lawmakers and students by his side.
The legislation boosts the maximum Pell grant, which goes to the poorest college students, from $4,310 a year to $5,400 a year by 2012.
It also cuts in half the interest rates on federally backed student loans

police turn on lights and ask for license, insuranse and registratation. Then ask you to step out of car and do sobriety checks and B.A.C. which is 0.00 . Another officer searches your car (two seater, no trunk) says to the officer detaining me that there are open intoxicants in the back of car. The officer that is questioning me ask if i am on any illegal drugs, I answer no, He then asks if i take perscription drugs, I answer yes and name them. He never asked if when i last took them and places me under arrest for dui. Go to the station and ask me to take a blood draw for in toxication to which i approve with the understanding they will be checking for blood alcahol level. Turns out they are checking for everything, perscription drugs and illegal drugs. Is this proper procedures?

My friend works in a place where they sell alcohol and cigarettes and their policy is to check the ID of everyone, even if they look 80 years old! Anyway, he said that when cops come in they never have their ID on them and one of them said that they aren't requited to carry their drivers licenses when driving! Is that true?

Yesterday we discussed the "English betrayal" of the American indians Tonite "English betrayal of france">During our civil war the English were supporting and supplying the south They were also invading Mexico along with Spain and France, after Mexico suspended interest payments to them [bill collectors] We reminded all 3 of our Monroe Doctrine [Euro's stay OUT of the America's] The English said "see ya we are out of here". At the beginning of WW 2 England and the free-French invaded norhtern France, Its was a rout, supplies were left for the Germans to use,the French only found out about the withdraw,at Dunkirk, after their troops complained they were not allowed on the ships [English 1st] But they left 2 French divisions to protect THEIR evacuation After the war the England and France decided to take over the Suez canal, the U S put pressure on the English, they said "see ya we're out of here" without consulting the french Would this be called betrayal ?
