Basically it says that in all the places with restrictive laws against illegal immigrants, there has been notable decline of illegal immigrant populations.

Its all about someone - if we get those things we have more room to craft solutions. The longer this goes on, the more our backs are forced against a wall and the more we have to choose between undesirable and less desirable solutions.

I agree 100%, how ironic that the parents of the illigals are leaving because they do not want their children to be exposed to this. Correct me if I am wrong, but are they not the very ones that recreated this situation by first coming across the borders without papers, and then useing false or stolen docments

Dar, imagine where we as Americans would be today if they had implemented the enforcements of our US Immigration laws in the first place? Say back in 1986 or shortly after the one time amnesty bill was enacted?
One can only hope now, that our government reps have taken the American peoples voices seriously over this whole immigration issue.
Rabidfrog - One state at a time in getting them to start following Federal Immigration laws. And enacting No Federal Funding to the states that have sanctuary cities, I suppose is how that should go.
Some guy named Chris Cross Chris(?) offered a different piece of this last night in an answer he gave. I've been going through it page by page backwards. Only way I can get it to work.

In Carpentersville, as soon as there was even a threat of an illegal immigrant crackdown, the mattresses came out on the sidewalks and illegals disappeared in droves. The same is happening in other areas where illegals are moving out. The danger is that without consistent enforcement the illegals will do just as the gangs have done -- when the enforcement gets tough, the gangs move on to softer targets. It's time to get across the board enforcement.

TO add to Rabid Frog and Austacia, I've notice a change in immigration policy before I read it in the news. There are more Hispanics in Los ANgeles begging and there are alot more Hispanics in the Los Angeles area. Unfortunately illegal immigrants are fleeing to the sanctuary cities. Too bad that San Francisco is too expensive for them to head that way. Right now the only inconvenience I experience is a slight increase in people hitting me up for money and longer lines at certain places, but that is minor. I've seen greater numbers of Panhandlers in the past, but I was in Hollywood and was disturbed at the number of homeless there. THey had nothing to do with the illegal immigrants though.
I've seen a strong change in demographics in Both Burbank and Valenicia. The other areas of Los Angeles I visit would be impossible to gauge, since they were always predominantly Hispanic to begin with.
My hope is that immigration would concentrate in Cities where illegal immigrants now concentrate at. If they all flee to Los Angeles, it should be easy picking for ICE.

It certainly shows that without a free ride and welfare, many will leave on their own. Though the actual numbers represent a small percentage, I think a nationwide crackdown as strong as that in the states mentioned would have a telling effect.
Even if illegals leave and the anchor-baby loophole is closed, though, what to do about the 30 to 50 million who've already been improperly granted birthright citizenship?

I think it is working in those states but unfortunately we have a large supply of sanctuary cities and even some sanctuary states.
The federal government is so inept at doing their job (or unwilling) that it drops down to the states and because states do not work in conjunction unless under federal guidance those illegals may just be moving from state to state indefinitely, makes you want to scream at somebody in DC.....
It would just be nice if we could work together to fix this mess...

Of course it works.
If it didn't work, there would not be such vigorous protests against the crackdowns by the illegal alien supporters.
The reduction of illegal aliens in those areas speaks loudly to emphasize it's effectiveness.
We need a federal crackdown on sanctuary cities.

Excellent, it is working. Costa Mesa California has also done the same thing. Illegals were being arrested on site if they couldn't prove they were citizens. They have now moved to riverside, ca. and national city, ca. Costa mesa is once beautiful and clean again, not to mention crime is way down.
Escondido, Ca. passed a similar law but has yet to fully enforce it.
I still say you have to enforce the border areas first for this to really work.
It really goes to show you we DON'T need The "illegals" for work, but we DO need" legal "immigrants.

As illegals move to sanctuary cities they will start to "get it" and make the right decisions to round them up or boot them out, except maybe LA, those people are in some serious denial.

I wish that the state that I live in would crack down like that. I think that Ok. and Co. are doing exactly what needs to be done to ride this country of illegal aliens.
