I recently heard NeoCon described as a faction within the Republican party, typified by VP Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld, that favors military action and preemptive strikes. There is another faction under Secretary Rice and the current chief-of-staff that want more engagement (i.e. the six-party talks regarding North Korea). I don't know if they have a name. Some say that the President is not looking to the NeoCon faction as much as he did in the past.
There are people on the left who could be defined as NeoComms, but I think they prefer to be called Progressives. They feel that some version of communism could succeed if "the right people" were in charge.

NeoCon are the New Conservatives. This is quite different from traditional Republicans. The term is thrown around so much as misused often.
"Libs" should not be called NeoComms because liberals are not Communists.
Sweeping generalizations and sterotypes are easier than intelligent debate, aren't they?

Yes. Just the newest version of the Bolshevik.
During that debate last night, how in the hell could any of those candidates be considered 'democrats'?
Truman would have all of them either imprisoned or stripped of their citizenship.
Did I hear Biden's name?
Yeah, right. One look at his voting record proves how far left he is as well.

That is how you all TOLERANT, COMPASSIONATE AND CARING come across to the rest of us. If we dont agree with your ilk you scream at us, threaten us and push your ugly faces into ours. The term "neo-con" was originally coined to describe Jews who were Democrats, then got some education, experience, age and wisdom. They then switched to the Republican party.
Many questioners try to use the term as pejorative against Republicans and conservatives.

I think it is funny when they write Neo-con. They are so stupid they don't even know what their attempted insults mean. Neo means new. Wow, new Conservative. You could call them Neocomms if there were something new about them. They are the same old commies though.

Sounds good. It's insulting when they use that name since they are being derogatory against Conservatives!

A neocon is someone who want the world to remain as it was in the 1950's.
A Lib is someone who is progressive and wants the world and society to move into the future not remain in the past.
Libs can be called NeoProgressives.
