Because ultimately the United States was justified, but not necessarily for the reasons which the administration presented. Iraq had violated both United Nations resolutions levied against it and also ceasefire agreements from the first Gulf War. The United Nations would look extremely foolish if it attempted to impose sanctions against a country that was acting in accordance with UN resolutions. Further the United States would correctly counter that we were justified because the ceasefire agreement was broken. This occurred on numerous occasions when the Iraqi military fired on planes patrolling the Southern No Fly zone. However, the real reason is because the United States is a voting member of the Security Council and would just veto any such attempt.

With What could any country sanction the USA? No more lead tainted toys? No more heroine from Afghanistan? No more stuck-up French people? This nation supports 90% of the countries of the world. If the USA would just tell every country that badmouths us and calls our President a murderer and goes against us whenever we need help, that we will no longer give financial aid to them. This would save the tax payers billions of dollars every years. Other than oil and cheap labor, what does this country desperately need from any other country? This is why the world hates us, because we have the ball and make the rules and there is nothing they can do to change that. This includes the billionaires like Osama bin Laden who, even with all their money, cannot get the US to budge when it comes to control of the world.

So instead of being against the war, why not be For America and pray that we can defeat terrorism soon so our children's children will be safe in the future.

I think having strict sanctions imposed on the United States would probably be the best thing that ever happened to the United States. It'd suck for everyone else, and I'm fine with that.

Bush had to assault Iraq long before 9/11. He used each excuse in the e book from terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, Saddam being a danger to u . s . a ., Saddam killing his human beings, Bush wanting to guard the Iraqis and so on. the final analysis Saddam began making use of euros for his oil instead of greenbacks! Iran is likewise changing to Euros from funds and additionally you are able to discover what is going on with Iran! that is all on the subject of the oil! Bush would desire to care much less on the subject of the Iraqi human beings and this assault on Iraq has shown that. on account that u . s . a . attacked Iraq over 0.5 a million civilians have died not Iraqi soilders yet CIVILIANS. Saddam did not come everywhere on the ingredient of that determine and Iraq became right into a a lot safer and greater effective place than the hell hollow it is now. the sorrowful section is Saddam became into blamed for the deaths yet Bush who has became an entire united states of america and its human beings right into a bloody mass of horror isn't blamed for something instead the mess is blamed on the damaging human beings of Iraq. actually international's best terrorist can not come on the ingredient of the mass killings in Iraq and Afganistan by using Bush and his administration!

I suppose you think Myanmar should sanction the U.S then? What is your point dude? The world economy relies on the U.S., we don't rely on them. I think the other countries should sanction the U.S. so we can cut off foreign aid and pull our troops home to defend our borders from the hordes of refugees that would be trying to come here after the rest of the world falls flat on its' collective ***.

because we own the UN, and other countries can't afford to sanction us....don't want to trade with US? im sure the US won't care about trading with a little third world country at the present and in the future.
it's kinda like a small business who's trying to boycott wal mart. Would wal-mart care? should wal mart care? who need who more?

Are you kidding? If these countries sanctioned the USA, they wouldn't have markets for their goods and they wouldn't get their debts paid. China holds billions of dollars of U.S. debt and owns businesses in the USA. So does Dubai and numerous other foreign enterprises. Add to that the fact that U.S. companies have taken lots of their business offshore and would lose all that business if there were sanctions and you have your answer. The answer is ALWAYS MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, MONEY. The truth is wars have little to do with democracy or the rights of individuals and everything to do with MONEY and POWER. Think about it. If we bring our troops home, Halliburton and Blackwater won't have any access to the billions of dollars that the U.S. Government is paying them along with the contractors who are bilking the American Citizens out of billions of dollars.

There is no moral, ethical, or humanitarian reason for war except for money and power.

I have and always will support our troops but I am absolutely and unequivocally opposed to the war and I want our troops home protecting our borders from the illegal immigrants who are the new 21st Century Trojan Horses!

There are no grounds to impose punishment on the US for anything. When the Iraq war started, there were 64 countries involved in the coalition.
There were only five countries opposed, and four of them were making illegal deals with Iraq.

The rest of the world cannot afford to sanction us.

Edit: If anyone could place sanctions on the U.S. who could enforce the sanctions?

Its a game only America likes to play
It hurts the poor, and allows the favored classes to continue in the chosen lifestyle.
Imagine if China sanctioned the US, and all your prices shot up over night when Wal-Mart closed
