to all you people that think draftees were the scum of the Army;
WW2 veterans were 90% draftees, and the same go's for Korea and Vietnam Vets. Are you saying they were "drug abusers" and "poor leaders"?
there is a train of thought supported by most WW2, Korea, and Vietnam Vets that says a drafted force is a more diverse cross section of the country with MORE quality troops, not fewer.
Also: with more citizens with "skin in the game" we will all think more seriously about foreign affairs and when/if we allow our government to use military force.

Honestly I would love to see a draft. There isn't alot of vocal opposition to the war and the younger people 18-25 are not really involved in trying to end it. If they are at risk of going and fighting involuntarily they will have alot more to say and I think it only fair that EVERYBODY is involved in the war not just those who sighed up under the urging of a recruiter who promised them money, an education and everything else. Let's have some senators grandchildren at risk and it won't last much longer.

It wont happen again until we lose 25% or more of our armed forces, we learned in Vietnam the effects of a draft filled military. The majorities of the draftees didn't want to fight in the first place, 2nd the drug abuse and lower leadership problems many say were attributed to the resentment of the soldiers who were drafted. An all volunteer army will fight harder than a group of people who don't want to fight in the first place. think about this, you have 100 men who are blood thirsty vs. 100 men snatched from home as soon as highschool was overwith in the middle of their post senior year summer. It's easy to comprehend. The draft is a last option our government would use to preserve our nations future.

did you know 41% of americans already support a draft without any additional government propaganda?
and people are trying to put it off on hillary clinton for some reason? it makes a bad joke best left for right wing commedians like bill o'reilly and ann coulter.
my greatest fear is with a draft will will have sufficient troops to launch offenses in iran and syria.

Mark my words, a military draft will only be necessary if Hillary is made the Commander-in-Chief. There is a long history of animosity between the Clintons and the military. This will be especially so if she goes ahead with plans to allow homosexuals to openly serve.

I think if this war keeps going for another year or two they might enforce the draft again, with restrictions.

I think as long as they continue to offer absorbadent sign on bonuses, not for a while. If Hillary gets in, 18 months or so.

I don't see one in the near future because too many would refuse to go.
But I do think that the enlistment and re-enlistment bonuses will continue to increase.
