This means that since our government is fond of the outsource route, why not outsource our whole government and have it run by the corporations. Have police, and if you need them you pay. Have schools and if you need them you pay. Have Hospitals and Libraries etc... that are self sustaining entities.

Or are we already close to a Corpocracy?

You think this isn't already happening? Big Business already runs the country, the naive just don't know it.

Well, I don't think that would be good. Take a look at the early 1900s in New York when fire departments were fighting amongst each other for territory and you had to pay them to go to your area. Theres a laundry list of problems. Competition doesn't always bring out the best.

You are living up to the name under your avatar.
We cannot for at least two reasons. The US is not a democracy. It is a representative republic. We have the US Constitution which spells out our form of government. It would take a continental congress to rewrite the Constitution. No one will agree to do that.
