General Betrayus got his job because General Casey didn't support the surge. Is General Betrayus just a highly decorated lackey with no sense of ethics who has no loyalty to the men he commands?

I'm not talking about legally, but morally. What if they really don't know what the candidates stand for? Should they risk their vote? I know everyone's vote is important, but if they haven't paid any attention to the race and are putting forth a blind vote, is it really any better than not voting at all?

Traditionally the answer to that question in the USA is no ..it does not. Traditionally, we have taken the view in this country that it is better that some criminals go free than to go overboard and violate the rights of citizens. Do you agree with this?
and what about terrorism? should our view be to have zero probability of terrorism as superseding the violating or infringing on citizen rights? Surely if our society were not free, government could perhaps do even more to protect us from terrorists. But is that what we want? Are we willing to accept a certain level that a terrorist could slip by and do some damage in exchange for preserving our rights?

Why shouyld we hav eto accept thier cultures and degrade our roots? It seems as if you should hide your pride at being white. I say that's wrong since many advances have originated in my culture. That's not demeaning any other but I want to be able to speak freely and be just as proud as some native ritual dancer etc., isnt that fair?

had he given up on the liberal montra - of talking til your enemy is blue in the face?

Why did they burn hundreds of thousands of innocent German civilians to death with their incindiary bomb runs at night? Were the democrats just stupid then or did they realize that sometimes in war the end justifies the means.

Where is a good Democrat like Truman when you really need one or have all the good ones turned Republican?

I'm writing a paper and would like to know your thoughts on how Hawaii as a state has been or can be an advantage to the US.

I will not plagiarize or copy your answers. I'm only interested in collecting different points of view in order to develop my understanding on the subject more fully.

Your help is much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

If you do, how could you think the 6 boys were treated fairly? Do people who say "throw the Jena 6 in prison for life" know the facts? or are they just ignoring them?
I suggest a read:

There's A LOT more to it than some nooses and a retaliation. Nobody is defending the use of violence at all. We're just saying everyone who resorted to violence should be held to the same standard.

And when did you become LDS and why? Or, are you ashamed of how you broke away from the church and went off to get your 501C to collect contributions to the church?

Keep it sweet, as one of my friends who is an LDS, and messes around on his wife all the time in Washington, D.C. is watching to see how honest you answer or don't answer this question. (smile)

Sorry....
My wife was a 2 yr probationary govrnment worker (GS-5) in San Diego ca. she was appointed in Mar 07. Today she received a letter of termination for "unsatisfactory work performance ".

In July she received a performance appraisal which states that she is "outstanding", very flexible, and is on her way to the top.
So from 31 July til today (termination) her perfomance has dropped because she has taken on special projects (which her suppervisor lauded her for in her appraisal) which is apparently led to her dismissal.

Of course these conflict, but my question is ...since she was in her probationary period, does she have any rights to fight this? also was she required to get 30 days notice before termination....Her handbook talks at length about appeals, but nothing specifically about termination. Thanks for any help.

She is in a union but has not discussed this with a union rep as of yet. What can she do???
