My friend's mother is fighting for child support on her youngest son. She doesn't have enough money for a lawyer. I've seen the "we get paid only if you get paid" lawyers for personal injury cases, but haven't seen any for child support. Do they exist? Does she have any other options?

I got a dishwasher a little while ago (not sure when exactly, maybe a month and a half ago!) but now there’s a leak, something wrong with the internal plumbing in the machine, so I looked at the papers I got with the machine and there’s a thing for registering your warrantee but I never used it!!!!, it doesn’t say that the guarantee is invalid if you don’t register or that you must register, the front says this ""your new indesit purchase is guaranteed against breakdown for a period of 12 months. by registering your purchase you will be helping us provide you with the best possible after sales service"

is it still guaranteed???? please help!!

cheers!
(sorry for the slightly ,long length but I thought it needed to be said!!)

Why not, after 4 years... have these countries and more, contributed to peace in Iraq? (does the USA do enough to bring more countries into the police-force?)

I find it to be true in more situation than not. Though there are exceptions, mostly every en devour in life invovles some rational decision making. Our very being depends on this rationalization. So to think it would be limited to the decision to enter into a life of crime is rationally wrong. Now,the exception could be those label mentally unstable in which you can throw rationality out the door. If a person cant make the most basic decision than one as complex as the justice system is the furthest from the minds

I had a poll on YA before and most would pay 6000$ each to fund the war but in a separate poll most would not invest 12.8% of their salary for healthcare that could potential save 100000 fellow Americans.

The Americans give their wounded soldiers the purple heart for wounds in combat. And in combat most injuries are not flesh wounds. To give a medal to a soldier whos suffered injuries in a warzone a medal would not cost a lot of money. And for the soldiers who've died in service at least their families would have a badge of their bravery to keep in their memory. But as before the pride it would give either the soldier or their family would be way above the price it would be to make the things. so why dont they?

Is it mandatory to submit an obituary to a newspaper?
I ask since often it is private. In France elegant announcements are sent to family and friends who need to know and it seems more refined than public announcement which may bring persons to the services who are not welcome.

There is so much anger and negativity, when there really shouldn't be. We are a wealthy nation, and have a lifestyle that is the envy of the world. Are you happy here too?

With 70% of iraqis being under the age of 18, how can foreign occupiers (obviously foreign) not CREATE anger and support for revenge? Many of these kids know a family member who has been killed. Some (not many) have had parents or very close relatives killed. And in the later case, do you expect the child of a killed father to join the killer of his father?

I think the way to win is to arm every household in iraq. Famalies can the protect themselves. We can leave.

With a force of 5,000 soldiers, 50 tanks, and 10 bombers we could hit up to 150 targets a day. Those targets could be coordinated by iraqi military.

It is obvious that PATROLS by americans are a useless way of creating anomosity towards us, and the true method of creating peace is by blowing the living h*ll out of whoever the current iraqi government deems the enemy.

Any small patrols to be done will be done from now on in TANKS.

Do you think the current strategy of slowly bleeding works?

Fred Thompson, on Leno, asserted that Iraq was developing nuclear weapons, which NOBODY, not even President Bush, now believes. Check link for full transcript, but here is the crux:

I think we got to remember what it would be like if we had not done what we did [invaded Iraq] (...) It [Iraq] would have been in a position to continue its nuclear weapons program.

Since Iraq did NOT have a nuclear weapons program, is Fred just ignorant of this fact, or is he lying to get the support of the 'base' who also still believe in Sadaam's phantom nuclear program?

Each year, an estimated 400,000 babies are born in the United States to mothers who are illegal immigrants. More than 25 percent of those babies are born in California.

Although Congress has never passed a law saying so, no president has ever ordered it, and no court has ever ruled on the issue, each of these babies automatically becomes a U.S. citizen when it takes its first breath.

That could change if legislation that Rep. Dan Lungren, R-Gold River, joined in sponsoring in April becomes law.

Lungren, who served as California's attorney general from 1990 to 1998 and worked on the last successful push for an immigration overhaul when he represented Long Beach in the Congress in the 1980s, said he is trying to stimulate a debate on what he believes is a key factor drawing immigrants illegally across the U.S.-Mexico border.

Critics have another word for it.

"Xenophobia," said Crystal Williams, deputy director of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. "They are afraid of having more Hispanic citizens."

Contributing to the evolution of U.S. policy is the 14th Amendment to the Constitution. Ratified in 1868, after the Civil War, it was intended to ensure that children of freed slaves were extended U.S. citizenship. The amendment states simply that anyone born in the United States and "subject to the jurisdiction thereof," is a citizen.

U.S. policy has come to recognize "birthright citizenship" in just about every vital transaction.

You pay for the war. You pay for the murder. Unless you act to stop the imperial campaign against the Arab people, you are an accessory to murder, an accomplice. Your president said it: Either with us or against us. Either for life and democracy or for death and destruction.
No honest civilian can accept the theft of Iraq's oil and the murder of its population. Act now.
