At the rate that conservatives are deserting Bush, when he leaves office will they, quite literally, turn thier backs on him as he leaves the White House?

Its come down to 24 hours to deal with her, or the Justice system. 1 Child involved. Child and Ex live 1k miles from me. I dont want her to use my reality in court to bury me. I am a fuch up. Lost communications with child for few months now, du to BLOW. Lost my job. Car..............yep, its gone too. Evicted also. Im a real smart guy huh??? Truth is, drugs didnt mess me up, FMLA did. Partied for a year without FMLA and functioned fine, with moderate bankroll chng. Will it hold up in court?

Sorry just had that song on my mind...

My question (based on my earlier question re why people sue one another and what's wrong with America) now is this, and ok I'll eventually get to what the question is in my roundabout way:

It got me thinking...I'm trying to figure out why Americans are like no other human species on this planet...you're a very intersting "culture" you know...because you really have uniquely developed a way of living that is unlike any other.

Patriotism...I haven't really come to understand that yet, is primarily linked to the military....the fact that government runs it, and judging by the huge split and division in politics...makes me wonder if it's not the Republicans who really have control over the military....that is just one of my takes on this (and please feel free to comment on that...)

But that's not really what I wanted to talk about here. When I asked about people suing each other and why and what's wrong with America...I concluded this:

By banning marriages they don't like - stopping embryonic stem cell research that could save lives - attempting to force our children to pray in school - telling a woman what to do with her body - and basically impose their "beliefs" on those of us who don't believe the same as they do.

decision and want to give me 10% w/ serverance pay. Does anyone know how this will work as far as my monthly payment from VA? Will it stop... I know I cant get both and it will take 24months to pay the army back based on what I get from VA, so will VA just not pay me for 24 months or is there a way they pay you some and pay back the army some. Will I have to be re-evaluated? I have Lupus and it doesn't go away, how will that be handled

My mom came here 30+ years ago married my father. Our house got broken into and whomever did it stole all of our families records, keepsakes, etc. They took my mother's passport and birth certificate. She has a greencard and social security card and had her license but lost it about a month ago, we are having a BIG issue trying to get a duplicate because we are finding out she has an old version of the greencard, any suggestions?

So I live in Michigan and I rented a room from a guy. We had quite a few problems arise and I did not pay 2 months of rent to him after which he threatened me with physical harm and then to call the police and throw out my things on the street. My dad had to come get me and my stuff at 2am in the morning and we moved out. He did not file anything in courts to get me evicted, just threatened me. What do I do now, is what he did legal? If its illegal what do I do? I had to commute 130 miles to college twice a week after for 2 months... someone help me...

I'm on a donotcall list, yet collectors who have the WRONG number constantly call using a computer automated voice system, prompting me to call back, the number on the caller I.D. allways seems to be a dummy number to throw off complaints against them, should the FTC be doing something about this? and should telephone companies have the capacity to help protect the consumer from these calls as well, or are they playing both sides for thier benefit?

I'm sure it wasn't ment as mean but the fact that insurance and our court system and all got involved was (is) so riduculous to me it is beyond rthoughtless. I'm sure he could have even taken photos and given them only to the employee and still had a joke and he won't have lost the employee or delt with all the money deal-I really can't blame the employee as it was passed around with her knowledge-how stupid. In fact-the whole thing is stupid!

How is the us going to make up for all the suffering that has caused? And there are still people that think the gvmnt is doing a great job. What do you think? Is it a wise thing to be in iraq?

Say for example someone offered you $2,000 to put fake tusks in your mouth and take a photo, then show it to your friends. Would you take it? Chances are you would.

So, why does the legal system believe that the photo is valued at $1,000,000? ($250,000 out-of-court settlement + another $750,000 from the insurance company because that just wasn't enough).
