That mission,to topple the govt.(A horrible mistake, and I protested quite vocally at the time and was accused by people like you of supporting the "butcher of Baghdad")but we did it.Now there is a power vacuum,it really is a moot point now whether we should have invaded, whether al-quaeda was there or not.We DID invade,al-quaeda IS there.Iran is NOW a huge threat, and fact is,if you want to keep your lifestyle,we NEED oil.We have bases still from WWII in Europe,we will have bases there. If you don't like the idea of fighting for oil,why do you people ***** about the price of gas NOW?Why do you push for socialized medicine?Without the oil,our economy collapses.Politicians tell gullible people anything to get a vote.NO ONE will be STUPID enough to actually go through with withdrawing the troops. They are only speaking to the naive to garner votes

I really think the administration thought that it would be easier after the take down of Saddam and things for the most part would fall into place. Underestimating the enemy is worst things you can do when fighting in a war. Remember V.P. Cheney and the "last throws" statement ? We opened a can of worms but now can't find the lid.

Are you having a hard time keeping up? No wonder you're a liberal. Mission 1, bringing down Saddam, ACCOMPLISHED. Mission 2, helping the Iraqis build the first democracy in their history, on going.

Get it now? I tried to make it as simple as I could.

Just for Ritchwilliams: Who asked for that democracy?

Is it your obligation or your duty to install democracy to every non democratic nation? Why dont you do so in pakistan?Or saudi arabia?Islam and democracy dont mix well
This democracy is a sad excuse by your president.Only for those who fall for it as eaysily as you.
Quit the irony because it's you who cant think well.

By the way, what democracy are you talking about when you make your puppet goverment with fraudulent elections?
