Maybe we can get an answer on yahoo, since the president can't answer this question....

List of the usually-argued fake reasons and why they're fake:

1) "The deficit" - - tax revenue is UP since the tax cuts and is rising at over 4X the rate of inflation - - - yes we have a deficit problem but that means we need to cut SPENDING. When your boss gives you a raise that's $2K more than you expected and your husband blows $3K more than you expected at the dog track, the problem's not with your boss!

2) "They went only to the rich" --- First of all, that's not true. Second, even if it were true, it's their money - someone else's tax cut doesn't harm you. It doesn't mean "you have to pay more" if revenue is going UP. Moreover, the top 1%, 5%, 10%, 20%, 50% of taxpayers pay an INCREASING share of the tax burden since the tax cuts went into effect.

3) "Lower income folks should get a tax cut" - sure, go ahead, I'll support ANY tax cut - but again, revenue is UP - cutting Peter's taxes is not a reason to raise Paul's taxes.

In other words we gave them a benchmark. They still have not reached this benchmark or any others. Our government has been around for 200+ years, and would probably not meet any of the political benchmarks they put forward towards the newly elected Iraqi government. Hypocritical? What's your opinion?

DC Madam Palfrey's most high -profile prostitution customer.

"Vitter recently sent a "letter to senators, urging them to support abstinence education, to teach teenagers, quote, 'that saving sex until marriage and remaining faithful afterwards is the best choice for health and happiness.' "
hahahahahahahahaha... resign and repent along with Foley, Gingrich, and all the other GOP hypocrite sex sinners who voted to impeach Clinton.

yet have never accepted that they were defeated in 2000. Can you honestly hold open debate with someone who still claims Bush stole the 2000 election. Our Supreme Court backed by the US constitution concluded that Bush won. This was before Bush appointed any judges. That is how our government works.

We Indians do have an attitude to adjust to every circumstance imaginable and im sure most of you might not agree to it. But just think, You wake up every morning and realise water shortage, therefore you adjust to it, the bus station is overcrowded and unsystematic. Apart from his or her daily work he or she might come across similar hazzles in government offices- the stuff that goes under the table, electricity cut outs and what not and surprisingly we adjust to it.Now the first thing you might say is if we dont adjust to it we dont stand a chance. Well true. But then if our attitudes dont incline away from adjusting to it we dont stand a chance in the world arena. I mean look at us. We are known as the second fastest developing nation but our civic infrastructure is crumbling. Our nation at the moment is heading for something big yet we dont feel it. And i think its our attitude of adjusting to problems and not finding solution. Let me know what you think.

"We're not socialists!!" the leftys wail. In the next breath they tout the virtues of socialized health care or any number of half baked wealth redistribution schemes to ensure "fairness".

What part of socialism don't they understand?

Well, not exactly.

I recently applied for a job, and I received a call (voice mail, I was away) saying that I passed the initial screening, and they are asking me to come for an interview. The guy left his e-mail address and phone number. Should I respond via e-mail or phone to set up the interview time?

I feel that phone is much more professional. But he also said that he would not be conducting the interview, so I guess, it seems some other guy will have the final say in my job application.

"We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind, We have before us many, many long months of struggle and of suffering. You ask, what is our policy? I will say: It is to wage war, by sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us: to wage war against a monstrous tyranny, never surpassed in the dark, lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy. You ask: what is our aim? I can answer in one word: Victory - victory - at all costs, victory, in spite of all terror, victory, however long and hard the road may be; for without victory, there is no survival."

I love this quote!

from those deadly roadside bombs, that are so powerful using shaped charges that they can knock over a humvee killing the crew and the soldiers inside? Any new design ideas that will afford these crew members more protection against these deadly blasts?
It is obvious that the military is having some difficulty in developing and designing the types of armor that will stop these deadly blasts from killing or injuring the troops, so any constructive ideas on ways or designs that would help to further protect these brave men and women from being injured or killed would be deeply appreciated. They do need the help of those individuals that are capable of thinking of new ways to help our fighting forces do their jobs better so they can come home to their loved ones.

Thank you in advance.

We elect our president to prevent laws from passing that he doesn't like. If congress sends him a bill with an unrelated provision attached just for polical purposes, doesn't that make congress the one's who are violating checks and balances, not the president for striking out that part? I think the line item veto (as I understand it) makes the constitution stronger. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the meaning of the line item veto.

I recently quit a Job at a local newspaper, and have been promised time and time again that I would receive my last paycheck. I have contacted the owner and he has ignored me on almost every occasion. The same goes for another former employee of this company. It's been about a month and a half and I still have not received my check. I was just wondering if there was a way to report this employer and actually see some results.

Example: If you are for or against the Iraq war if someone gave an opposing view that was impossible to be argued with, would it be possible for you to change your view on the war?

Hong Kong is a backwater no place. It has no natural resources to speak of. It than has essentially unfettered capitalism hoisted upon it, after which in an astonshingly short period of time it goes on to become a beacon of international trade and success.

Zimbabwe is a shining star of Africa. It is known as the breadbasket of Africa, as highly skilled white farmers ply their trade on private farms. Robert Mugabe confiscates their farmland, kicks them off, and gives the land to "peasants" who have no clue on how to farm the land. In an astonshingly short period of time Zimbabwe goes from being an exporter of food to being an importer of food just to keep its starving people alive. Mugabe's centrally planned, top down economy is a mess and the forecast is for nothing but more suffering under his brutal, socialist rule.

OK. Are you STILL going to say socialism is nifty but the wrong people are always in charge?
