Well, not exactly.
I recently applied for a job, and I received a call (voice mail, I was away) saying that I passed the initial screening, and they are asking me to come for an interview. The guy left his e-mail address and phone number. Should I respond via e-mail or phone to set up the interview time?
I feel that phone is much more professional. But he also said that he would not be conducting the interview, so I guess, it seems some other guy will have the final say in my job application.

Call by phone.
Even if the guy you contact is not the one making the final decision, he will probably make a note of your call in your file. You are right, it is much more professional to call than to email and every little bit helps in evaluating you. But, to expedite things, call and if you don't get him right away, send an email also. Note in your email that you left a voice mail message and you eagerly await his call so you can set up the interview.
Good luck!

I disagree.
So long as you use proper grammar, spelling, and write professionally, I would reply via email. Obviously, the caller does not mind if you e-mail him, because he gave it to you. Plus, as an added benefit, you will create a record of your reply and ensure that he doesn't mistakenly take down a wrong date or time from your phone call.
Ultimately, it's whatever you are most comfortable with, but e-mail is a viable option in this case since the caller gave it to you as an option.

I would respond by phone, but if you have to leave a message then send an e-mail too. Good luck!

This is scam 100%, I had the same email. For 3 years I got loads of scams, won jackpot in Yahoo lottery is one of them. Think about it, if you never applied for a job how could you get it? Besides comapanies NEVER send emails to arrange interview, they PR or HR department will contact you directly by telephone. This is likely to be fraud as usual. Besides what IDIOT in a company would USE CAPITAL LETTERS TO WRITE FORMAL LETTER? INCLUDING !!! marks.

it is better to call rather than email it is more personal. and it doenst matter who you talk to if they are different from the person interviewing you, they all talk with eachother anyway. and the person you called can always put in a good word for you.
