In other words we gave them a benchmark. They still have not reached this benchmark or any others. Our government has been around for 200+ years, and would probably not meet any of the political benchmarks they put forward towards the newly elected Iraqi government. Hypocritical? What's your opinion?

123whatever- we did not elect dems, we elected whatever to replace what was there already. Don't kid yourself into thinking America suddenly went democrat. It was more anti-Republican than pro-democrat. Turns out that more Dems got the nod. Conservatives were just as tired of the past Congress spending and sitting on their buttocks.

Well, now we can see that the Congress is just a bunch of elitist power hungry incompetents, who don't give a crap about American interests. They even have a lower approval rating than Bush, if that's possible. What a disgrace.

you're fabulous they did not obtain a mandate to decrease and run. What they won became a vote of self assurance to attempt and bring approximately an honorable end to the conflict. What did the election leads to 06 rather mean. not a lot. As we've considered the same old video games proceed. not what am i able to do for my united states, yet what do I ought to do to get re-elected, meaning how do I suck as much as the particular interest and get their economic backing so as that i will get re-elected. How do they anticipate to get their rankings up while they proceed to overlook appropriate to the plight of the american human beings. human beings do not unavoidably want a handout yet they % to take delivery of a raffle to stay a known rate life while not having to hold down 2 or 3 jobs. there's a loss of self appreciate and the politicians rather do not care. till they do then the rankings will proceed to be low..

Funny, I didnt see that on the ballot. I voted for people I thought would apply common sense in deciding what actions should be taken by the government. Dont recall any questions on the ballot related to ending the war, bugging out, or giving up to terrorists.

They also promised to keep the gas prices under control and keep them low. Obviously, that was a lie as well. Theire non binding resolutions hold absolutely no merit either. I have absolutely no faith in democrats anymore. They vote and act just like socialists these days. They may as well just change their party name to the Socialist National Committee. They seem to be totally against traditional American values, and want to radically change this nation into something unrecognizable.

Heck this congress hasn't done much of nothing that they said they would (well, they did raise the minimun wage). But why does that make this congress any different than any other that has been elected, since at least, the Newt Gingrich Congress of the mid 90's?

choose your words carefully. we replaced some Reps who were for the war with Dems who were against the war. We did not elect enough Dems to give us the 2/3 majority. Hence the stalemate.

It may be that the Dems played the 'elect us to end the war' card two years to early, but I don't think so. They can plead presidential obstruction until '08.

Vote out all candidates who won't end the war, secure the borders, uphold our constitution. Party doesn't matter, issues do matter.

Yes I have to agree. There is a lot more to the war than is at face value. Please see this movie
freedom to fascism, most powerful political documentary ever made.
