My husband has pressed charges against his ex wife's husband (and sadly, his former best friend) for harrassment. He continually sent emails to my husbands place of worked, and even after a call from a police officer he just wouldn't stop. The police asked the DA to take the case and he agreed - we just got an email from my husbands ex wife offering us money to drop the charges. Now we're left wondering - is this appropriate? (BTW, we don't have an attorney for this case)

Ms. Angelou endorses Hillary Clinton. I respect Ms. Angelou as a writer and a person of substance.

If you are getting your income from public funds, I don't think you should be allowed to buy lottery in the first place. However, if you do win, I think you should repay whatever funds you took from the public and spit the rest 50/50 with the public. Thoughts?

just look at how much money political candidates need to raise / waste before putting themselves forward for selection to represent their parties , let alone spending / wasting even more money for winning ultimate election of running the country.

recently recieved a regular DUI in phoenix, AZ but I am from out of state, and am not back in Ohio. I was advised by a police acquaintance in phoenix that if i do not wish to deal with it, and if I do NOTHING about it, my drivers license in Arizona only will be suspended and I will have a warrant in Maricopa Cty (where Phoenix is), but that there would be no extradition or anyway it would follow me back to Ohio. Nothing would be on my record and I could more or less escape it all by not returning to that county for a while.
All I would need to do is avoid going back to Phoenix for a few years.

I know this is not the correct way to handle this, but can anyone with a legal background confirm this is a possible approach to avoid the dui being on my record and having to do fine/jail/classes for it? I was told as long as the warrant is out , there is no conviction - therefore nothing on my record in Ohio and also my drivers license in Ohio will not be effected.
True?

I think if you are living off of other peoples income ( like welfare recipients), you should not be able to buy these things. I think if you are caught your payments should be stopped and you should be given vouchers for food at the local food bank instead. Cruel?

Despite the obsession of many big-name Democrat politicians (the Clintons, Ted Kennedy, Chuck Schumer, Dianne Feinstein, Frank Lautenberg, Chris Dodd, etc. etc.) to further limit or do away with lawful privately held firearms, nearly all the states have passed concealed carry legislation in recent years, and now the states are passing "castle doctrine" legislation that protects lawful owners from prosecution and civil suits for defending themselves with lethal force against unlawful intruders. Can that happen without the agreement of many citizens who vote Democrat?

The U.S. Government is all caught up in church business and most all decisions are made according to the bible or personal beliefs from being brain washed by organized religion... What happened to the 2 being separated and not the other way around?

our four fathers basically said that the people makes decisions
and the government today doesn't let us make any decisions
its all their choices
to every police officer its whatever they saw or heard that people are arrested for and not for the truth of wat really happened

so my question is why are we controlled by the government?
and why don't the people have any say in any major matters in the U.S.?

The reason he gave for commuting scooters sentence was that the sentence was too "Excessive" And yes, he had every right to commute his sentence. The question is this. Scooter was sentenced according to FEDERAL guidelines, by a republican judge. So will Bush try and change the sentencing guidelines, and then commute the sentences of the other few hundred people convicted of the very same crimes? It seems to me that if its excessive for 1 person convicted by a jury of his peers, then it must be excessive to EVERYONE convicted by a jury of his/her peers. Will Bush do the right thing and change the sentencing guidelines and commute the other sentences of those convicted of this crime? Or was Scooter special?

Obama is pro-choice. So basically, he is fine with killing babies, adding that he "trusts women to make the right choice" what right choice would young girls (not women) make when they are faced with a decision that will affect them their entire lives? He believes in God? How can that be with his choices? He says that people should go out and "do God's work" when he doesn't even do it himself-hypocrite!

Most of your ancestors were dirt poor peasants who couldn't cut it in Europe, so they came with their 15 kids to grab some free land.
America was begging for skilled Euros to come and in 1946 America brought over hundreds of Nazi scientists to help develop the country even though US law prohibits people who belonged to the Nazi party from entering.

And now you guys wonna sit here and act like you did some kind of major moves. You're riding high on the accomplishment of other countries.

I actually was intrigued when he first showed up on the presidental radar and found his mannerism and appearance appealing enough for a minority to actually have a chance at winning the presidency. Then came the thing about his $1000+ unpaid parking tickets he left behind at
Harvard. Not a big deal right? But it seemed to show something about his character. Then came the so called "leaked" emails concerning Hillary, and not just the one concerning the indians. There have been a few that Obama would let "leak" for a few days and then deny ever knowing about them.

This guy seems too sneaky for the presidency. Care to add any insight? This is just my opinion and could be changed if these issues were clarified.
