If an employer throws a piece of paper at you, because they are angry, with the intent of getting you pissed enough to respond in a violent way, would his action be a form of assault?

Ok I called the 1800 number on the Direct Tv Website and all I do is get transferred to Asia. I keep telling the rep to transfer me to a service rep in the United States and they say they can't do that. I have a severe issue with Direct Tv and in order to get it resolved I need a direct Tv head quarters in the US---NOT ASIA . I have recoreded three programs from the Direct TV Guide menu that are PG-13 movies for kids and when I go play them back to watch with my kids I get pornography movies. Its horrible and I want to do something about it but trying to get hold of direct TV in the US is impossible. Any Suggestions?

...why don't we for each election, just randomly assign the order?

Our current 'solution' is to frontload all of the primaries which means only wellfunded candidates have a chance.

If we spread out the primaries, then underfunded (yet qualified) candidates have a chance to gain momentum. Since different states would get to go first each election, then no state will get to go first all of the time (like Iowa and New Hampshire).

Thoughts?

Well , that's what Hugo Chavez did this week . He threatened to fire all government employees who did NOT participate in counter-protests in Venezuela . He bussed them in from all over the country , gave them $25 - free lunch - and a free red hat and red t-shirt !!

Why do I even have to ask this question ? Because incredibly there are still folks who support this guy in our own free democracy .

How can you live in a democratic country , enjoying the benifits of that country including free speech. . . . . .and then support someone who believes the opposite ? How is that even possible , let alone even sane ?

I'm writing a paper in law and we are to include the Psychological Concepts that occurred in the court case we went to. Does anyone know for sure what examples of this would be? It was a simple case so I don't think much of this occurred but I would like examples just in case I'm not including something. TIA

I had an arraignment date for a charge in court over a year ago...the DA kept delaying it, with NCF (no charges filed). Finally after a year, the court dropped if from the calendar, whatever that means. Now I discover, without me knowing about it, that it went back on calendar, I missed the court date last week, (of which I knew nothing about), but of course I kept every previous court date (9 of them in a year) waiting for charges to be filed by the DA.. Now I have a felony arrest warrant, etc etc etc, no bail, all that stuff because I wasnt present in court on a date I knew nothing about. How do I go about handling this without being thrown in jail for who knows how long?????

Just listening to John Murtha on ABC This Week. He says the terrorists are in place because we are in Iraq, and he believes they will leave us alone if we leave.
He mumbled it all in a more fruitcake way, but that was the jist of it.
With the fact that 9-11 happened before we were in Iraq, and the guy that wanted to blow up JFK says he thought up the idea 10 years ago...what is his stance based on?
This guy is worse than my wife. He would rather br right than to be happy.
I personally dont care if the guy ends up right about something, but on this matter, he is SO wrong it has gotten him on national TV.
OK, lets say we all leave Iraq, and turn our heads to all the problems that follow...do the left wingers think the terrorists are going to stop being bad people and go out and get regular jobs?

Ww live in Texas. Had an accident in N.C. We were run off the Interstate by another driver wanting our lane. They claim another driver hit them so she moved in our lane. We stopped exchanged info . No one hurt (by the Grace of God) minimal damage to our vehicle . Quote is $2,000 for repair. we left we had somewhere we needed to be. The trooper came because they called about the hit and run driver. Trooper called my cell but didn't hear it, later got the message tried to call back but it was from a private # and did not save. Next AM he called and we met him. He gave us citation for not immediately stopping. He got all the info from the people who stayed so he gave us also the driver exchage info. I am having a real problem with this citation. I have to appear in court in Statesville or hire an attorney. I got solicitations from atty's up ther and it says Hit/Run Fail Stop Prop Damage. I s there a law that says you have to wait on the side of a high traffic Int. or what?

I started the process of getting my marriage annulled and needed to serve my wife with a summons who has recently moved out. She was avoiding to tell me where she lived. I found out that my wife was living in a gated community. My friend and I went in through a car access gate that was open and walked in to go to her apartment to serve her. I contacted the manager for help in the service, but the manager claims that I was trespassing and asked me and my friend to leave. The police got involved (the manager and I called them). My friend eventually served her in front of the police officers. I was not present when the service was done.

Is the service valid?

You can be pro-war if you want . Hey , it's a free country right ?!

But what I want to know is. . . . . . Have you considered that if we don't go after Radical Islamists wherever they are , they will continue to grow stronger ?

Hell , they're fighting in more than 30 countries right now and I'm sure you're logical enough to know that it will get worse if we stop going after them . And simply saying that we should be fighting them in Afghanistan or Iraq is getting real old . They're fighting in more than 30 countries !!

If they're fighting in more than 30 countries, why are we only attacking terrorists in 2 specific countries?

Wouldn't it make more sense to fight an unconventional war on terror, globally, instead of fighting 2 conventional wars in specific countries?

The 2 recent terror plots that were broken up?

I can't tell you how many times I've heard some con say "we're fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them here".

But yet, plots to attack the US on our own soil continue to happen.

I've been told time and time again that the war in Iraq is making our country safe. But clearly it is not.

Please keep that rhetoric to yourselves cause nobody is buying that gigantic load of bullshit anymore.

Our leaders eg, Kennedy, Kerry and others on the left expect us to follow them but if we disagree with them we are racest, bigots, what have you. Give them facts to show them they are wrong and your some kind of nut. Shame on you for confussing the issue with facts. Some on the right do give but can be as enflexable. Since JFK stated," ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country," all people seem interrested in is themselves. What has happened to us. Where did we go wrong. Even with the imigration issue some want all sent back and some want all let in. Give them facts,eg what about us obeying our laws on the issue or letting them in with some payment for breaking our laws and your confusing the issue with facts. Have we become so secular that we have forgotten the Christen roots on which this country was built. The world is not a safe and wonderful place any more. We should at least take care of each other.

My husband and I were on our way back from 250 miles away when we were pulled over my child was in my lap asleep. She had crying quite loudly for over two hours. She was not sick but overly tired. She just couldnt get comfortable in her carseat. I took her out so I could get her to go to sleep and then I was going to put her right back in. I tried to explain the crying was getting to the driver. No understanding cop. He gave us a whopping ticket. Should I fight it and hope I get and understanding judge?
