He is an enrolled Tribal member and has an anual income of aprox. 500,000.00. The Tribe is aware of his negligence but refuse any assistance. How can I collect on this past due obligation of about 200,000.00? Dept. of child support has no services available. Private attorneys have no ability either. What can I do to change this, and finally collect what he owes to me?

You are not entitled to anything and no court can enforce a child support order on a ative American. His tribe must have a very lucrative casino on their land for him to get that kind of money. The only thing you can do is plead to your ex husband to give his child some support, other than that go find a job.

When two people can't seem to work out details on what's important in this world the courts get stuck being the bad guys or doing things that don't seem fair to someone. Your children didn't ask for these problems. You and your husband are the cases and issues of the settlements, resolving problems between you two in an amicable manner. Let the courts be the referee and when your situation is better or money is not an issue, the courts will place the boys in the best suited home either yours or his. Food, clothing, schooling, and decent home to reside along with harmony is important. Who does that will take the boys. Without income you need support, which courts should order from him. Wait and relax, as what you need to do is to be in control and be calm mind and in control.......

Being 1/8th Indian doesnt entitle you to much. I dont know what tribe he is from to receive a per-capita income from the tribe. Most tribes dont consider a 1/8th DIB an Indian, therefore they dont concern themselves with issues regarding family. Most states has a deadbeat dad law. I would suggest you find a competant family law attorney with credentials. It may cost you up front, but considering you arent getting a dime now, what have you got to lose? Good luck, and get after him.

You have inconsistancies in your question which causes me to think you are withholding the truth or some significant details. I suggest you contact Child Support Enforcement, an attorney and your State Attorney General. There are too many options available to you for you to not collect child support.

500,000.00 what, beads? I have a fiend that his Cherokee and gets 1000.00 a month. Hardly 500k, is it?
I have traveled on Indian reservations, and didn't see allot of Rolls Royce's and Mercedes. I hardly saw any brick houses.
If he owes back child support, he owes it, period. I never heard of Indians being excluded from state and federal law.
For part of 200k, if it's USD's, you can get a hell of a lawyer.
