Is it possible to get out of bounds chits during the 15 weeks A school for corpman in Great Lakes? A chit to travel out of bounds up to about 200 miles by car?

actually, the distance is 160 miles and it can be made in less than 3 hours. It would be traveled by car and my husband would come pick me up and drop off!

It all depends on your chain of command. You will not know until you run the chit. Usually when you are in "A" school the answer is NO unless it is during the holiday stand down for Christmas.

Also, the Navy does not have MOS's or MOS schools. We have ratings and NEC's. If you are to Great Lakes for CORPSMAN (look at the correct spelling also) your rating is HM = Hospital Corpsman. If you go to "C" School following "A" school you will get an NEC other than 0000.
Worry about your job and everything you will need to learn in boot camp and "A" school before you start worrying about going out of bounds with anyone.

depends how far you can go...I think you can only go 200 miles on a 96 hour liberty. and ur miles become less as depending on how much libo you get. A lot of people still go out of bounds during the weekends without having a chit. Just dont get into an accident or trouble cause you will be in deep ****.

Would probably depend on your academic status and how you as an individual are viewed by your chain of command. Can't you just run a chit? You may have to show proof of reliable transportation.

doubtful. HM A school is self paced, and everybody is on phases.. the first phase, they cannot leave base at all. Second phase, no over nights allowed. it isn;t until the final phase that you can have weekends without having to report to barracks.

and as a MARINE,. you should have more respect for Corpsmen.. the ones who save your butt in the field.
