I watch the news and see nothing but bad news - catastrophe in Irag - USA apparently succesfully invaded by Mexico (and they did not even have to use their army)-Homeland Security that responds so slowly and ineptly to a disaster that I wonder what will happen if their is another attack. And the list goes on.
Surely in the time he has been in office he must have done something that benefited USA or the rest of the world.

They always accuse the republicans of "starving" children, robbing retirees money, etc. ad nauseum. Yet, aren't they truly killing our young men in uniform by delaying EMERGENCY money to fund our troops, to ensure they have everything to protect and support themselves ?? Didn't Bush tell them a FREAKING YEAR AGO what he would do ? And yet, Dems continue to play politics ??

I am asking this because I think people forget that we are fighting a certain kind of enemy. These people are not in uniform they do not distinguish themselves from regular civilians and they hide pretty much everywhere. Our military still does a great job and I will still take 5 US soliders over 100 guerrilla fighters to win a fight anyday, but how do you crush and defeat an organization with no real leader organization and structure.

I heard about this thing, just recently, so I thought I'd post a couple of questins that have ben floating through my mind. Ponderings, nothing more. And so far, I have found that for the most part, it's people just attacking me for asking a question. Attacking my character or beliefs. Since when do people assume to know someone from a simple question?

it doesn't show support for the troops,it shows disrespect. There is no logical reason to claim to be in the service or a vet on yahoo, there is no way it can be proven. If you support the troops, don't dishonor their service by lying.

I speak from personal experience. My older brother started his first tour last August. We know people who have been there twice & are now preparing for a 3rd tour in Iraq.
The military is stretched thin & its UNFAIR that just a few have to go again & again.
My brother was wounded by an IED in late October. I went to see him in Germany during part of his 6 week recovery. He had over 150 stitches in his shoulder, neck jaw & cheek. His jawbone was broken. They call this a minor injury.
Every day my brother goes to "work". Except when he was hospitalized, he has "worked" every day. YOU get weekends off. YOU get holidays and vacation. He gets NOTHING!
Democrats want a NON-BINDING agreement that the war has to end at some point. If things change, the agreement can change. It is NOT surrender or a withdrawal date. Bush's veto is a slap in the face to every soldier & their family involved in this war. What a way to live. Every time the phone rings, my Mom thinks it's more bad news. Sickening.

I think Kucinich cares more about black people than Obama because Kucinich cares deeply about all people...so much so that it seems Kucinich cares about the average people more than his own popularity; and that he's willing to stand up for the people even if he gets ragged on by the uncle tom media.

Kucinich cares more than Obama, right?

The second amendment states that "A well regulated MILITIA being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the PEOPLE to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

Is this saying that only MILITIA are able to bear arms or the PEOPLE (any regular citizen) can? I'm confused because militia ARE citizens/the people....
Basically--according to this second amendment--who can keep and bear arms? The people or the militia?

Why don't they simply tell the president that he can't have any more money or support for his 'failed, lost' war, and he will get no funding til he pulls the troops out? Or could they be a bit nervous about the political fallout of such a bold move? Aren't ALL the 'American people' behind them as they imply in their claims and pompous announcements?

Many of you have been saying that immigrants are ruining this country, taking your jobs and your money. Which one of you would like to clean someone’s house for $6.00 an hour? I’m sure all of you are angry because you wanted to clean that house! Why did your great grandparents come here? They wanted a better opportunity for their families. I think it would help if some of you would imagine being in a foreign country like Laos where you don’t speak the language and have to come up with a living wage.

Frankly, it’s too late. There are illegal immigrants here, and if you want to stop the influx of more you have to pass some sort of policy is that REALISTIC. Let’s have amnesty and than regulate future immigration.
