The term "Major Combat Operations" is easily familiar to anyone who know what a "Major Command" is.
As commonly used in the military, "Major Combat Operations" refer to a large unit -- Corps sized or greater -- conducting theater-wide operations and coordinating with related Naval and Air assets.
Major combat operations did indeed end three weeks after the initial invasion. What remains is an occupation, not theater-wide maneuver.
The problem with the media and most liberals is that they have never been around the military and they have no understanding of how they speak.
Nobody is going to draft you. Nobody is going to ask you to sacrifice anything. Why can you not let the volunteers that want to give freedom and self determination to 25 million Iraqis do what they went there to do? It costs you nothing.

"Mission Accomplished" That's correct, the mission to kick Saddam out of power. Not the Conflict is Over or the War is Over.

As you can see from the first answer, there are still too many Americans who are comfortable with the lies and absolutely unwilling to admit what Bush has actually done to this country.
Funny thing reality...eventually it will bite you in the backside...

Actually thatt banner only denoted that we had removed Saddam from power, a national policy that had been in effect since President Clinton signed the resolution passed by congress making it so. If you really want to see who is lying I would suggest you pay close attention to the democratic leadership.

His words were"mission accomplished", so why are we still there? Congress is trying to get him to deal but he won't allow a time line to the withdrawal of troops.

The mission would have accomplished much more had they dropped him like a bomb into Iraq during that flight.
