Define Islamofascist. Go ahead. I'll wait.
Islam is a religion. Fascism is a political ideaolgy the unifies business and state.
The people we're fighting are Islamic extremists, who want to return to a fundamental religious way of life. That is not fascism. That is an authoritarian theocracy. There is a HUGE difference.
Terrorism is to this age as what communism was to the 50's and 60's. Fear mongered and overhyped.
The number one threat to American life isn't terrorism, it's heart disease. Heart disease kills hundreds of thousands of Americans per year. Twelve of the top 15 threats to American lives are diseases. The other three are accidents (car accidents, falling down the stairs, etc.), suicides, and murders (criminal, not terrorist related).
And yet we spend billions on this threat of terrorist? Why not spend some of that on help for the depressed? Or better medical care? Then you'd have a million more Americans to fight in wars. Why go an invade a country that was not a threat, didn't have WMDs, and had no ties to terrorism instead of addressing the larger killers over here?
These are the questions people should ask themselves. They should ask why our government supports these groups and dictators which later turn on us when they no longer want to play by our rules. People should ask why our great country is only paying lip sevice to the ideals we once held dear.
And people should be asking themselves why our military is overseas fighting an enemy that cannot be defeated by military means and weren't even our enemies until we invaded.
I'm not sure why people can't see through this farce. It's no different from Mcarthyism.

Every service member I've talked to that has been to Iraq, supports the war whole heartedly. I suggest you talk to a few of them, then ask foolish questions. The question you should be asking is why the democrats hate them so much they won't send the money they need to armor vehicles properly. Or why the democrats voted to send them over there only to forsake them later? And as far as republican lies, was it not Bill Clinton himself who gave a speech in 1998 (I believe) to congress about the danger that Iraq poses to the security of the united states? Was it republicans or the news media that showed all the nuclear inspectors get kicked out of Iraq, because I'm pretty sure I saw that on TV. Darn those republicans for taking over my TV to perpetuate the greatest hoax EVER. Hey, you know what, that would make Bush a genius! Ok, here's the deal, either he's a genius and duped everybody in the whole world, or he's a moron. If you say he's a moron, then you can't say he fabricated all the reasons to go to war. If he's a genius, you can't call him stupid anymore. What's it gonna be?

I am sorry your brother was injured, I am sorry, nobody has sacraficed more then military families and for that I thank you
and your family, even more so your brother.
But I have to ask seeing as though there is no draft, why did your brother join the armed services if he doesnt agree with the mission, or understand the risk.
Your brother knew when he signed on the line there was a possibility he would be injured.
Financial aid is available for people to attend college without joining the service.
Joining the armed services is an option at this point. Please dont take my response the wrong way, your brother is one of many heros and I hope he stays safe, just understand he chose that job he wasnt drafted.

There will be a global war for resources in the near future.Bush and the neo-cons want good footing in the mid-east so Isreal and the US can dominate and control the remaining oil supply. Go to Peak Oil Life After the Oil Crash. It explains much and has refrences to good source material.

Republicans and contards are here for a reason. Just like fire ants, their roles are to contrast the other side of the good and evil.
They are simply insects.

Guess what, [FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE] (married to a marine) They tell you that you could go to war at any time, they tell you your first duty is to serve the United States and your president. They know this before they sign their contract [which is pretty much giving up all your American rights], So if you are stupid enough to get mad when they actually send you to war you have no balls. Your attitude is a slap in the face to American Military. You have no respect. NO honor like our Military does. I am sad to know you call yourself an American. You have no idea what you are talking about. AT ALL, I don't care if your brother is in the military it doesn't make you an expert.
HE KNEW what he was getting himself into, he was fully aware of what his duty's were. and your "quoting" work implies you don't think its a job. and being in the military is a Job. YOU HAVE NO IDEA.

Did your brother VOLUNTEER for the service? What did you think he was going to do in the military--play cards? Your brother signed up of his own volition and had to fight in a war. That's what the military does.
Is it a shame that these guys have to go back so many times? I guess, but it's not like this is unusual in a time of war. My father has a friend who signed up to do 18 months and be done. Unfortunately, a couple of months before he was finished, Pearl Harbor was hit. He ended up doing 6 years till the end of the war and would have gone to the Pacific had we not ended that theater with the bomb. I don't know how many tours that is. He didn't get to go home every now and again.
I had an uncle who was drafted into that war, had to leave college, and died in France. He didn't choose to go.
I am grateful that your brother is fighting to keep my family and me safe and I am sorry that he was so badly injured do so, but he signed up for the military; he wasn't drafted and he's doing what must be done.

Because if we weren't fighting the islamo fascists over there we'd be dying for it over here. Why can't liberals see that the whole of Western Civilization and way of life is under threat by the islamic fundamentalists. They want to take the World back to the dark ages and kill or convert everybody who is not a muslim. They can't even stop killing each other. The non radical muslims either can't or wont stand up to these cowards and lunatics without help. The only way to win is to face the scum in their own lair.
PS The bill bush vetoed had a BINDING commitment to start a troop withdrawal by October 1st 2007 and a proviso that the troop who remain could not take any action without approval from congress. Can you imagine the miltary controlled by a bunch of cowards, appeasers and traitors?

Why can't Bush understand that the Iraq war is no longer our war. It is a civil war now. We gave them the opportunity for a democracy, and they rejected it. We need to leave and let them deal with their own problems.
