Does anybody have a greater defense for law enforcement who wait in an alley with their lights off for people to go 10 miles over the speed limit so they can take their money in the name of justice than simply mocking people who say "don't they have anything better to do?" How about actually answering the question (do they have anything better to do?)

1. intellectual debate (even dissent) is important as a principle. No, really. I mean it. And without name-calling.
2. Everything should start with freedom (think Libertarian/Anarchist) We only change that with a good reason, usually moral.
3. Social issues are NOT THAT IMPORTANT. We can work for common goals around them (promote adoption, safe sex instead of banning abortion.)
4. Free markets good, not always morally acceptable. Live with a mixed economy, just not stagnant.
5. Promote democracy and freedom culturally, launch a real PR campaign around the world.

OK what else? something about the balance between multiculturalism and unity, the environment, then we should be able to win every election for the next 100 years or so. Oh and we need a name.

I just passed my two year mark in the Army. At the time I passed that mark I was flagged for pt failure. About 2 days after my 2 year mark, my flag was lifted. It was long overdue (I passed the pt test 6 times since it was initiated). What I want to know is will I still be promoted automatically to E-4 like I should have been or will someone in my chain of command have to do it manually. And if the first choice how soon will it be?

As a black Democrat myself, I am curious why we as a people do not analyze all canidates and the issues they represent. And, I am curious as to why we consider black Republicans as "sell-outs" or "white-washed"... Personally, I believe that as a people, historically, we are very moderate. We believe in gun control, but don't generally support gay marriage. We support government employment but would rather the government not meddle in our state affairs. So, in short, why have we allowed the Democratic party a free-ride to our vote?
