The F-22 is by far the most advanced Fighter plane in the world, but it's obscenely expensive too. The Eurofighter Typhoon is an impressive plane, it's got alot of good ratings on it, but in my opinion it's a generation behind the F-22. Dassault Rafale is a French plane, which has impressive manueverability, but doesn't allow for a significant payload. No more than 2 missiles from what I've read. Su-30, is a relatively new aircraft made by the Russians. It's interesting, and has high speeds, but has a low service ceiling. Finally, The Chinese have the Chengdu J-10, which honestly I haven't read too much on. But, would you trust an aircraft made in China? Most of the crap they make doesn't last two weeks.

No, but the Chinese will have a stealth fighter by 2020. There are ways to counter the F-22 and that's to destroy the refueling planes and go after the bases. Just look at the Battle of Midway at how to stop a superior fighter for its time. That's one of the things the U.S. is going to run into as it will have fewer planes. It will need planes to defend the base, strike other aircraft and attack the ground all at the same time and it will have to do it with a base in a country beside the enemy country since they won't work on aircraft carriers with their present configuration.

f-22 has never flown in combat all we've gotten thus far is a bunch of flatulence from the air force and pentagon trying to justify spending billions of dollars. The fact is american doctrine became flawed by fighting weak countries with little to no air force and optimizing against that scenario. There will be many nasty surprises for the f-22 ever tries to invade certain airspaces. As long as an aircraft moves air with a big heat pipe blasting radiation everywhere there is no such thing as stealth.

As far as civilians know, no.
Are there? Maybe. Very low chance, however.
Considering the major contenders...
Russians go for top speed, rush in and out interceptors that at close range would get eaten alive. They rely on missiles, so if they can't lock on, they can't destroy.
Chinese make the same, just put some canards on the nose.
I've heard nice things about several European type designs, but nothing that would contest the F-22.

That depends.
If piloted properly and supported correctly, probably no competitors.
However, in particular situations there are many aircraft that would probably give the F22 a run for its money.
Some which have already been mentioned.
However, used correctly, even the F15 can handle most other aircraft...

Just wait. The French are working on one, so are the Russians. One of the two will sell that jet to the Chinese just to screw us.
Allies in peace my butt!!!
