This was an answer someone gave to another question. I've never heard the system described this way before...

" The 2 major political parties are like parents.

The democrats are like one's mother. Always the one who kissed boo-boos, tells you it will be alright, is nice to the neighbors, keeps things tidy around the house, says things like "wait until your father gets home", "well, lets see how can we fix this", and "nobody should do my kid wrong".

The republicans are like one's dad. Football, motorcycles, racing...hates the neighbors, but is nice because the wife will gripe, tells you to suck it up when you get a boo-boo, handles the bully down the street, goes to work at a job he hates, fixes things around the house, and is generally grumpy when it comes to your mom. Says things like "I don't care; ask your mother". "knock off all that noise", "stop whining" and "what did you do to deserve it" '

Two college students entered a local telephone company's computer system without being asked for a password. One copied a confidential memo and posted it on a bulletin board for users to read. Another inserted a worm to slow down the computer system. Because of a mistake made in creating the worm, the system crashed and disrupted businesses. Local telephone service was suspended in the area for more than 8 hours. How should they be punished?

I'm a conservative, but even so, this whole Bush secrecy and not saying a word under oath thing makes a mockery of honest government. I'm looking at you, Rove, Gonzales, Rice, and Cheney...

My wife and I went into a an amusement park on Sunday, and a fello was wearing a black shirt saying, SEX OFFENDER on the front, and IM RIGHT HERE on the back. I overheard him speaking to a couple about the point of his shirt. He is a registered sex offender who says that he wears the shirt, to make families, and people uncomfortable. He says the sex offender list is unlawful, and its not fair for people of this certain crime to have to be publicly listed when other people of other harmful crimes dont have to be. I joiined in the conversation as i totally agree. He says he wears it alot, and goes to food joints, movies, and grocery markets with the shirt on, and it drives people crazy, but his theory, which is a good one, goes like this. No need to search on the internet for me, if you want to know where i am, read it on my chest, im right here. I laughed, and thought it was a great idea, because i viewed lots of people looking at him like he is crazy and with fear. Imagine that

Say We The People demand a bush impeachment, and get it.

Would that make it easy for America to get back on the moral high ground and possibly win this struggle with global terrorism.

Given that 'new labour' is virtually the same as the 'old tories'; that we are a constitutional monarchy without a constitution; that the Queen has ultimate power over the state; that we have a 'house of lords' and 'house of commons' in the 'upper' and 'lower' houses respectively (the language there says a lot!), just because we elect MPs, does that really make us a true democracy? (Even the Chinese elect government officials....)

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF JOE REPUBLICAN"

Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee. The water is clean and good because some liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards. With his first swallow of water, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some liberal fought to ensure their safety and that they work as advertised.

All but $10 of his medications are paid for by his employer's medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance - now Joe gets it too.

He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe's bacon is safe to eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry......

Do they send coded messages in Arabic? Would Shiites and Sunnis stop killing each other if the US protesters shut up?

Turn on CNN. They are doing an interview with Bill Maher. He is actually stating that Bush had the right to fire those prosecutors because it was written in the Patriot Act to do so. He stated that no one questioned the Patriot Act because no one has gone over it with a fine tooth comb. After all these years, no one has caught that. He stated it was the people's responsibility to know what it says, including our legislators.

He also stated that the Democrats have lost their wind when it has come to this war. They should have cut off funding and they haven't.

I guess the media isn't as liberal as you thought it was...

I find it upsetting that every news outlet I see calls it a war, yet there is no opposing force. I read that we are fighting terrorists, but you can't fight terrorists with an army. That is a function of police on all levels. This occupation is nothing more than the U.S. army trying to police Iraq.

Shouldn't you be more worried about the carpet bombing that was going on in europe at the same time that killed FAR more people? What do you think about the fact that it ended a war that could have lasted much longer and killed millions more?

Hey I really need help on how to present this to the police.

I had a roomate in our apt, and eventually we couldnt handle rent so we let one of our friends stay there for a month or two, the second roomate eventually got in a fight with the first roomate and when he left he stole my 42" plasma, which he sold to another kids mom, he stole all my valuables such as watches etc and kept a box with all of my reciepts, checks, signatures, etc in there.

Its been about 1 month and I cant track down this kid. I know someone who says they think they know where he is staying.
He did this because he is a meth addict it turns out and he also has at least 1 warrant out for him and he is out on bail right now.
When I file the police report what should I do? I am going to get the address of the house where he is supposedly at, where he lives with another tweaker, I am going to bring reciepts from at least the plasma TV and the xbox 360. What to do to make sure he gets in trouble at the least.
