Libs love to criticize our Prez for not showing interest, intelligence or concern for our Earth's environment. Yet, at every opportunity, despite being the leader of the Free World with enormous responsibilities, he rakes leaves and clears brush on his Texas ranch. Could it be he is a closet tree hugger???

Richard Daley said " we are not going to break up any families". He said this with regard to an illegal immigrant holed up in a church.
Does anyone here think that if the Federal government started breaking up JUST A FEW families that millions of illegals would flee?

Does anyone agree that it might be necessary to start seperating a few families so that legal families can live and earn a wage and not be sucked dry by the illegals?

I think its time to start seperating a few families. It was THEIR choice to come here illegally!

Seriously, people - find spirituality somewhere else. In politicians, just look for the person who knows how to run the country without running it into the ground. Seek morality somewhere you might find it, not in a politician.

Can liberals ever look at the war on terror and see what the terrorist are doing? Can they look at the terrorists and see that the US is far more civilized, far more compassionate, far more ethical than our enemies? We got upset when a prisoner had a bra on his head. Liberals hardly blinked when Nick Berg had his head sawed off. To them, they see a moral equivalence.

I just posted a question regarding the effectiveness of raising tax rates, I received many misguided answers from uniformed liberals. I have two main points to counter before asking my question.

1) Bush's spending has increased our deficit to record levels.

Truth: Everything has to be viewed in relative terms. Our budget deficit is actually quite low historically. In 2006, it was 1.8% of GDP, and is expected to be .8% in 2007. Compare this to the past 40-year average of 2.4%.

2) Our government debt is ridiculous.

Truth: Again, everything is relative. Our debt as a % of GDP is trending downward, and is only 37% of our GDP. This compares pretty favorably to 52% in Germany, 43% in France, and 79% in Japan.

There is only so much tax money you can squeeze from the rich.

A balanced budget must come from spending restraint, not further hosing the rich.

Should we really be so quick to judge Supply-Side economics? Both major implementations were during times of war.

It's now well established that George W. Bush never showed up for National Guard duty for a period of approximately one year, possibly more, in 1972-1973. Despite all the talk about "honor and dignity," Bush seems to have a problem meeting his commitments.

"Those of us who were in the military wonder how it is that someone who is supposedly serving on active duty...can miss a whole year of service without even explaining where it went," said [Senator John] Kerry.

Bush says he's released all his records...if that's true, then has anyone seen:

Any pages from Bush's flight log
Records from the Flight Inquiry Board convened after Bush was suspended as a pilot
Any evidence of Bush's reclassification into another AFSC after suspension as a pilot
Any photos of George Bush in a military uniform after 1972
Anything at all from any Alabama unit with Bush's name on it
Any copies of form 44a from the Alabama National Guard certifying attendance
Air Force Form 142 (Aviation Service Audit Worksheet)
Anything proving service (not just receipt of pay) by Bush between May 1972 and May 1973?

I got caught the other day beacuse I was in a hurry and didn't manage to get a ticket. I offered to pay the fine but instead they took my details and gave me a caution. Because they didn't have me arrested does this mean I will just get a fine, or will try any jail me over this petty event? They said the courts will contact me - how long does this take - it was South West Trains.
