Thtas part of what they signed up for. They sign up to serve our country in exchange for a salary from the government.
This question is like me asking: " Why does McDonalds have to pay trueknowledge88's wages, he knew what he was getting into when he applied to work there."

If they weren't paid to do their job liek anyoen else who does a job, how woudl they support thewir familes? Or buy their food or have a place to live? And contrary to popular belief most military personnel do NOT make vbery much money. Many here qualify for WIC if they have small children which means tehy also qualify for at least Medicaid. I think teh question shoudl in fact be the other way, why aren't they paid more?

They signed up for it as a job, and because its a job, they get paid for it.
Mailmen and politicians new what they were getting into when they signed up for their jobs, but do we have to pay them with our tax dollars.

From the American Revolution on all military personnel have been paid through tax dollars. Live with it.

Good God.
If you don't support the troops, you are *not* worthy of the freedoms they have fought for over the past 230+ years.
I'd rather pay soldiers than a lazy ho any day.

They defend you that is why you pay them. They also knew you would be paying them when they signed up its was part of the contract.

How do you propose we pay military personal, with monopoly money? Your question may possibly be the dumbest ever posted on Yahoo Answers.

So there wouldn't be a draft, and you and people like you wouldn't have to worry about defending your country....be thankful - I know I am just in the knowledge that you aren't in the service of my nation.

. I'd be willing to bet that you'd rather pay THEM and then sit here and whine and wet your pants about it than have to actually try to do what they do. What a laugh.
