I don't care which government signed into it, WE SIGNED, and I don't know about anybody else, but when I sign on that dotted line I set my commitment to it? and now have present government try and renege on the deal, was a very pathetic deal, I'm glad that someone had the sense to fight for my right as a Canadian Citizen to allow my signature to remain one of "respect".

I get this sometimes - some of the people who admit that household incomes have done very well since the James Gang song I'm listening to came out point out that women have joined the workforce and now it's two parents both working...

Yeah, but how'd that happen? The economy created enough jobs for the workforce to increase by 35% over the increase in population while unemployment was cut in half.....

And lucky for those women, those jobs were mostly white collar jobs.

And consider the technology advances - women didn't work in the pre-appliance era when housework was all done by hand, so the time women used to spend with a washboard, their granddaughters spend in an office.

Net, the family still brings in almost 1/3 more in inflation-adjusted dollars.

And also consider divorce - there are as many new single-parent households as there are new two-earner households, so arguably the entire "but women HAVE to work now" argument is 100% refuted by that fact alone...

From what I've seen, people think that you should marry not for love, but to reproduce. Wow, that sucks for then who don't believe in love.

Also, from what I've seen so far, people say it "sickens" them to think about it. THEN DON'T. You don't have to interact with gay people if you don't want to. I understand there are hateful people out there, but c'mon, have respect for your fellow human! That is just hateful, people who think that are hateful.

Thirdly, people say it is not "natural". Neither is a lot of things, but technologically has made it possible. And how can you say it is not natural if it is what people feel? Emotions (of all kind) are natural.

I hired an attorney to represent me and he asked me for a quite large amount of money. He mentioned that will be a true retainer.

750 billion divided by 300 million Americans is $2500 each. Have a family of 4? Fork over 10 grand to Uncle Sam. And for what?

If you think this is all about fighting terrorists, then consider that the 750 billion in Iraq (not counting Afghanistan) divided by the roughly 3000 people killed on 9/11 comes out to $250,000,000 per person killed. For that much money we could be saving many, many more than 3000 lives.

I admit my uncertainty on this view, and would like the best answers from this group on that matter in the following point:

"What is the worth to the world of a person who flies airplanes into buildings? why is it right that all involved die so they can fly an airplane into a building? Why is it right that a suicide bombers rights be respected UNTIL after he blows up fifty children on a bus? Why does a man whom parkes a ryder truck in front of a building and blows up dozens of babies in a day care REALLY need to be respected? Im confused on this....

I need to know from folks why killing these people(or throwing them away in a pit) is bad in the sense that thier socital contributions are so great there lifes and rights should be defended at all costs. (And on a side note I have read the US constitution and find no mention of rights for forigen nationals contatined in it, but then there are none for political parties , either)

I know this may seem stupid, by how accurate are they? They always seem to show the good life of cops and such. They always show them driving in hummers and dressing all nice and stuff.

How is life really like working in law enforcement? To kill or shoot someone? To see collegues shot and killed?

Holy Crap someone actually made this claim...

"The problem with global warming is that it keeps on getting warmer. When the oceans start to boil, maybe you can figure out why that would be a bad thing.

Edit: Yes, a boiling ocean. The surface temperature on Venus is 800 degrees because of runaway greenhouse effect. Water boils at 212 degrees. Maybe a little hotter for salt water. "

And people wonder why others are skeptical.

in october i got arrested for wreckless driving in a parking lot. what i did was lose control on a left turn in a practically empty parking lot and the cops saw it and it was cited as "intentional." my problem is that i paid my lawyer $1500 and so far what he has done is just appear for my arraignment and talk to the DA (or so he says) and it stays as a misdemeanor and 2 points on my license along with a hefty fine.

This seems to me like a deal i could have cut on my own, or is what the court would have done to me regardless if i had a lawyer. it was only ONE left turn, that i floored it at, i didn't do it at every corner, just one and i got arrested for it. Does it sound like my lawyer could have done more? or did i just waste my money on a lawyer? should i still take it to trial and try to reduce the sentencing?

This is not an endorsement for Romney; I don't know anything about the guy except that he announced that he's running for President and that he's a Mormon--that's all the media is talking about at the mention of his name--his Mormonism.

Regarding the Utah mall shooting, I watched a segment on the off-duty policeman who helped in the situation. The shooters's name was briefly mentioned, and I thought it sounded foreign, so I began googling stories on the incident and found (after much searching) he was an 18-year-old Bosnian Muslim refugee. The mainstream media won't TOUCH this!

Any thoughts on this? Is it one of those cases, "it's ok to point out some groups, but it's "racial profiling" to point out others?
