I was under the impression that the whole global warming thing was supposed to cause milder winters. Well, so far, it doesn't seem so mild.

I didn't say anything offensive in my question, so I would appreciate the same in the answers. Name calling is for grade school children. Don't resort to that.

Thank you leftist. You actually made me understand part of this global warming thing. You put it into perspective for me. The geese here have been coming and going too. Thanks for helping me. I'm not a meteorologist or a former vice president, but I don't claim to be either. Thanks for answering.

Your impression was incorrect. Global warming causes unpredictable weather patterns that include stronger storms and more extreme cooling/heating cycles.

That may include milder winters, but it will always include colder winters than normal.

This year has actually been a perfect example where I live. It's been fluctuating between more mild than normal and far more cold than normal.

We actually have geese here now, which we never have. They should be further south at this point... but these keep coming back because just as the temperature dips down, it increases a few days later to the point where they come back.

Alot of people are confused by this, but they need to understand Global warming. It does not just affect total global temps at this time , but it also affects air and water temps and currents which besides causing supercell thunderstorms, huge hurricanes etc, can also cause freak snow storms and strange weather events in unusual places. Did you know that the 10 warmest summers in US recorded history have been in the last 15 years?

I do think global warming is a problem but current snow fall is not a repudiation of the concept. Warmer air in parts of the world could actually result in MORE snow because more moisture would be put into the air. Weather patterns are very complex and local variations will always be great. But the overall temp of the Earth is definitely rising.

Global warming is the effect as radiation being trapped in the atmosphere if the average atmosphere temperature rises just a few degrees it will melt the ice caps and cause many coastal cities to be submerged in water.

It's only called global warming. It has to do with extreme
climate changes. Extreme cold & extreme heat.
The 10 hottest days in recorded history have occured within
the last 10 years.
And anyway, even if you refuse to believe, I think you would
still would be in favor of a cleaner planet.

Milder winters OVER TIME. It's not suddenly in one season going to raise temps. by ten degrees or something and eliminate snowfall. Slight temperature changes won't eliminate snowfall anyway. In some ways the subtle raise in temp. can cause more. You need to do some research. It would take many years for global warming to cause the things you mentioned.

Or maybe it's the fact that the world's climate has changed over millions of years and only in the last 200 have we begun to realize those changes? They can't predict the weather for tomorrow let alone tell us what's going to happen 50 years from now.

Don't you know that every single weather pattern is caused by global warming? Extreme cold, dry spells, wet spells, hurricanes, tornadoes etc

there is no authentic info of international warming, the finest couple of years in england were cooler than ever, the outcomes they'd were shown to be made up or incorrect i.e. the the hockey stick graph and the actual undeniable reality that some atlas's are exhibiting shrink-a lengthy time period in the greenland ice field that are not real....they were confronted about this and stated they gained't replace it, in some consequences they did not think concerning the impacts of the sunlight! as they stated it would not impact the outcomes. they can't pass lower back now as too a lot money has been put in and too a lot of human beings's jobs trust in international warming. So truly they are going to keep on mendacity to us to justify there pastime's. yet now it is climate replace....the elements is often replacing you morons and could accomplish that whatever we do. we are in an interglacial era and could ultimately pass lower back into an ice age and no quantity of CO2 will replace that. All in each and every of the lack of not uncomplicated info is the most important difficulty and how am i able to trust those who make up consequences.

Here's a little hint for you:
If you don't know anything about a subject, keep your mouth shut.
"It is best to keep your mouth shut and be presumed ignorant than to open it and remove all doubt"- Mark Twain

Global warming effects worldwide average temperatures over many decades. It has nothing to do with the weather at a specific location and time.

For God's sake, get an education.
