I have noticed that members of congress want to keep the Medicaid program paying the same amount to phamacutical comapnies. They state it might actually raise prices, show me the proof. The VA (Veterans Affairs) bargains with drug companies and has a SUBSTANTIALY lower drug cost then Medicaid, so why not negotiate drug prices?

US Navy SEAL

500-yard swim using breast or side stroke in under 12:30
At least 42 push-ups in 2 minutes
At least 50 sit-ups in 2 minutes
At least 6 pull-ups (no time limit)
Run 1.5 miles in boots and long pants in under 11:30
Members’ vision must be no worse than 20/200 in both eyes. Vision must be correctable to 20/20.

British Infantry

1.5 mile run in under 11min 45 seconds
30 push ups in 2 min
45 sit ups in 2 min
As many pull ups as possible no time limit
a score of less than 10.2 on a bleep test
You have to be able swim to a good standard.

Now i know the seals is harder and im not disputing that but its not much harder than the Infantry fitness level required for the British Infantry. Does that suprise anyone because it does me. I thought it would be devastating just to get to special forces training as i know ours are ( the SAS/SBS ). Paras have to run the mile and a half in under 9min 30 seconds and Royal Marines in under 9 minutes in Britain.

Why do the movie stars think they are so smart that they have to try and influence the rest of us. I don't feel the whole bunch are worth one of our military. They are so worried about themselves why can't they take their money and help the poor in this country. Most of them have so many homes they could build a whole city for the poor and feed them besides. I know there are some that give but how about more. Some of the sport stars could feed a lot of families in this country for years. If people are so against poor don't look for the government for help what about some of the rich doing more.I am so sick of the news telling about the trash in the world. Why can't there be some news, I know the world can't be all bad. What happened to people remembering 9-11 and Pearl Harbor? They have made a hero out of Lincoln, he started a war, what about Roosevelt, he started a war, they both had the draft, Bush only has volunteers.

If we are so poor and just barely able to survive, then how how can we give to the rich? The $ has to come from somewhere, or did it just fall out of the sky? If we are so poor then why are Americans so fat eating all this food that must be costing them a fortune. What about digital cable? These cable companies are making the "big bucks" but how is that possible if everyone is struggling??

I work in construction in NJ and alot of illegals I know are going back to thier homelands. Cost of living here is a factor .But some laws with obtaining employment and drivers licenses seem to be working , as well as housing rental restrictions . Major problem with enforcement still seems to be greedy employers ( I am not 1). BTW -Alot of these illegals are good people , just trying to survive in this world like the rest of us .

I think Hillary is a stiff, cold, uncharismatic b-ch. No sense of humor, no feeling..etc.etc. This is in stark contrast to Edwards and Obama who have the warmth, character, speech skills, PR skills. It can't be the issues because all three are liberals, so you'll get the left leaning ideology either way you go. Is it the experience? Sure Clinton was in the WH for 8 years, and was actually acting president for at least 2 of those years, but still!! Is it because she is married to Bill? You guys must explain to me why you like Hillary over Barrack and John.

Iraq is now a democracy. A democratic nation in the middle east that can help preserve the freedoms and liberty of those who appreciate it throughout the world is a good thing. The people of Iraq have been oppressed for far too long. They now have an opportunity live the lives they want to live. They would be free if it weren't for the insurgent acts of terror that they must deal with daily. President Bush has a plan to shut down the insurgency. He is acting in a logical manner to ensure the freedoms of Americans across the globe. How is this bad?

I was at a traffic light today, and looked over to see a car full of teenagers, and the DRIVER was smoking pot. I could NOT believe my eyes!! I honked the horn, they looked over, and I put my arms up to say "what the heck do you think you're doing?" They stuck their middle fingers up at me, the light turned green, and I wrote down the liscence plate number.

Is there anything I can do with that plate #? I would LOVE to go tell their parents, but I don't think there is a way to find out who the car belongs to just from the plate #. I'm not sure if the police would follow up on it either. I guess I should've called 911, but the last time I did (yes - I've seen this happen TWICE now) a follow-up call from the police proved unworthy.

SCARY that this is really happening huh? Drive safely!!

I am asking this in response to an anti-spanking bill being introduced in California. I just want to know people's experiences.

Yes, I was spanked. And no, it didn't hurt me. I think my mom overused it; she could have substituted a verbal reprimand more often than she did, but even so, it didn't hurt me. And nobody's perfect. And w/o the threat of a spanking, the verbal reprimand wouldn't have had as big an impact.
