The Veterans Readjustment Act was a means to assure Vietnam Veterans would have equal employment opportunity with federal contractors or subcontractors. It also gave Veterans a means to file complanits against such employers whom the Veteran feels that they were discriminated against.

Why any employer would discriminate against a Veteran would seem ridiculous now, but Vietnam Veterans were not well received during that time. The Act was a feel good policy ratified by a congress trying to get out of a very ugly war. Since then, there are numerous federal, state and county employment programs provide incentives to employers who hire Veterans.

Sure, and they so all the time! They use some other lame excuse!

You think business cares about vets? They care about no-bid contracts and to hell with the vets!

There are some Repubs on here that complain about them getting a 10 point boost on their Civil Service scores!
