Why does the wording of a question incite hatred and name calling, depending on the object of the question?

This happens all the time. One of the more common questions is, "What religion are you?" or, "Do you believe in God?" If I say, "Atheist," or, "No," then I get a bunch of thumbs down. Why? That seems silly to me. I don't give people thumbs down if they quote scripture from their holy book of choice. So this question is for those of you that automatically give a thumbs down to atheists. Why are you doing that? Isn't it petty?

My Ex husband claims to be working FT, but I see at MOST $60 a week (usually more like $20) when curret support is at $450 a month. I inquired w/the child support enforcement officer who notified me that I receive 50% of his paycheck. In WA state min wage is aprox $7 hrly. 7 X 8= $56 with that being said I can only assume that he is working LESS than PT hours.

He provides health insurrance for our son. I discoverd he has to be working a FT (30-40 hrs a week) to receive benefits. So, if I do the math 7 x 30= $210 minimum. I don't understand how he is getting away with this.

The child support enforcement officer says that his employer payroll dept claims I receive 50% of his pay. That is as far as they will go. They will not investigate for me, they take what they can get.

I cannot afford a lawyer but did get a consultation. Apparently there is NOTHING I can do on my own, he is not disclosing information.

HELP, what can I do?

PS He is a server and does not report tips.

In an article carried by Yahoo, reportedly some 250 insurgents were eliminated today in Iraq. The insurgents were killed by Iraqi troops,Backed by US Troops.
I think its a great start and shows that the Iraqi's are capable in some areas to stand up to the challenge. They should be applauded and the Bush plan should be credited.
Can the Democrats acknowledge that this plan shows signs of working? Or is just to early to tell if there can be sucess with this plan?

I say, where the hell is the U.N.?

The U.N. was founded to take care of such things.

The U.S. will take care of terror.

Let the U.N. take care of the rest, if they can grow the balls to do something.

He went to court 5 times and his lawyer went for him 3 times. At what point am I off the hook. Why do they keep granting continuances? Now he's scared cause he missed his court date. He won't talk to me anymore, and I heard he's working in another state. The Bail bondsman says he doesn't want to do anything until the courts call him about it. But i think the longer we wait the less i'll be able to do to find him. Is there anything i can do? I don't have 7500 dollars, i never though my friend would back stab me like this. They were even offering probation, and is was a coke possession charge. Why would you skip? Idiot!

He is only behind the Republicans that are for the war in Iraq. I believe that he is so much in favor of the war due to it's helpfulness to Israel.

I would like to know that a potential roommate has similar values and a similar lifestyle to mine. Being that I would not be the landlord, am I still bound by the Non-Disrcimination in Housing Act?

Is it permissible to ask any questions, even if they might be touchy in other situations, for example:

What their religion is?
Any medical conditions that could effect others in the household?
Sexual orentation?

and so on.

Wouldn't that just serve to create sympathy for America during a time when Bush's actions have alienated America from most of the planet? Isn't Bush doing Bin Laden's work for him as it is? Why would Bin Laden want to prop up the U.S.A's image by attacking it?
