First, come down very, very hard on companies and people who hire illegals.
Second, when illegals are caught instead of flying them back home, fly them one-way to GREENLAND! Lots of space, not many people plus it's an huge island so it's harder for them to cross back into the U.S.

The current national debt is approaching 9 Trillion dollars. How would we fund the law enforcement needed to round up and deport the millions of illegals living here? The only option is to let the ones who want to stay here pay a fine and stay.

These people have the Cosmopolitan Right to come here and they will come here. The feelings being harbored against illegal immigrants today are no different than those that were cast upon the first free blacks in this country, the Chinese who were brought over here to do manual labor, or the Irish who came over. All of these people have contributed greatly to the American dream.

Eventually all of the people who want to be here will be here. The people who stay behind will see their economic conditions improve due to the population decline. It will eventually all level out as it has throughout the course of humanity.

There is nothing that can be done about illegal immigration. It exists because it IS illegal. People desperate to get to the USA or UK will always find a way in. Just look at how much unprotected coastline each country has. America is even more vulnerable because it has a huge border with Canada and an easy access route through Mexico.

And, especially in USA, it isn't THAT big a problem

And, anyway, what are countries other than mere lines drawn on a map

I spent 4 yrs in prison over this one so please at least give me the best answer. For one thing people need to understand in japan a watermelon costs like $20. we have the luxury of having a cheap hardworking laborforce so we dont. i know for a fact the border patrol lets a certain amount of people get through. im sure the agents in the field must get frustrated at this fact. but they just follow orders. gone are the days of mom and pop farming. these farms go as far as the eye can see. they are owned by companies like dole and other huge corporations that have alot of lobbyist power in washington dc. after 9/11 everything changed. all of the old rules went out the window. we need 2 sets of immigration laws. ones for people in north american countries ie. canada & mexico, and laws for everyone else. this would also make a bold statement, and a good one to our neighbors to the south. open the border up little by little over the course of say 5 yrs, while helping mexico along creating sounder economic
conditions for itself. so that there arent as many people living in desperation in MX. i smuggled thousands upon thousands of people. not one single one of them really wanted to leave MX. and pretty much all of them planned on returning once they could afford to.we americans are so arrogant the way we think everyone else in the world wished they lived in the U.S. not true. if conditions were just a little better, and people saw things getting better they wouldnt leave. even if it were just a little better. there are alot of things the U.S. gov. could do to stimulate the economy in MX. they just chose not to because they like having such a cheap labor source so close. anyways, i think if we helped MX we would have a better ally when it comes time to protect the border from terrorism and real threats.

Immigrants are people too. We should be mad at the government for not making laws that make it so these people don't take advantage of government handouts like welfare. And...I would never go to a country without learning the language. It's not America's responsibility to teach immigrants English. It should be a requirement that every immigrant whether from China, Mexico or Europe take an English test before becoming a citizen. Just makes sense to me.

In the long term help Mexico reduce poverty and create enough economic opportunities.

All the Mexicans I've every met were hard-working and all around great people. They just want the same things that we do, a chance to make a living. I love Mexicans, but their country has a lot of issues to contend with.

Fix the boarders, send back the illegals, give them the proper immigration forms and tell the bastards to take a bleepin' number.

Build a fence and secure our borders... prosecute businesses that hire illegals.... fix the dumb bureaucracy that makes it easier to risk you life to get into this country rather than to go through channels.

STEEP fines on any business caught hiring them, border fence should be built, any illegal that protests in the street is deported, any illegal that breaks the law is deported...

Well, I know we surely cant just pick up and throw out 14 million people.

I really don't care who is here as long as this is met:

1. You work.
2. You pay taxes.
3. You can not get public assistance.
4. Your anchor baby is NOT going to be supported by me.
5 You are NOT a criminal.
6. You learn to speak ENGLISH.

As long as all that is met.... stay. Violate even one of these rules, you are deported.
