He went to court 5 times and his lawyer went for him 3 times. At what point am I off the hook. Why do they keep granting continuances? Now he's scared cause he missed his court date. He won't talk to me anymore, and I heard he's working in another state. The Bail bondsman says he doesn't want to do anything until the courts call him about it. But i think the longer we wait the less i'll be able to do to find him. Is there anything i can do? I don't have 7500 dollars, i never though my friend would back stab me like this. They were even offering probation, and is was a coke possession charge. Why would you skip? Idiot!

That's the worst thing about signing a bond youa re responsible if they do dnot find a person no matter who the person is and how much you trust them any situation can come about. For one you need to keep in contact with his where abouts if you can through you or anyone else. The reason that the bailbonds man is not knocking on your door is because of the continuances he has not become ion default of the bond until he receives a FTA warrant failure to appear. Then they will ask you do you know where he is so that they can get him inot court just try to keep tabs on him if not the address just the city or as close as where he would live as possible. When they come looking for him just be coopertive in trying to help them find him. He is an idiot becuase all they want is for him to come to court on possession if it is your firt offense they usually give you a long probabtion period. Good luck hope i helped a little

Most likely, your signature guaranteed the bondsman that you would pay the $7500 if your roommate did not do what he was supposed to do.

i believe the way this works is, when you bail him out, he must show for his next court date, if not then your liable. I think after that if he skips, HE is liable. Not 100% sure

It really depends on the wording of the bond, but I expect you are good for it. Sorry. You may need to find a good bankruptcy lawyer.
