If some intelligent and compassionate men were to take hold of the world and become fascists, but they always remained good and intelligent men, would it really be so bad? C'mon now, people don't read. People argue and fight and are selfish. For reasons I cannot state here for lack of space, I still have hope in democracy, but I believe we should never lose the rationale for it. So people, do you know any reasons why democracy is a good idea? Please don't put answers like "it's obvious, duh."

I’m a college freshman in an ROTC program and I’m not so sure what I should be doing with my life. I’ve been giving a lot of thought to enlisting at the end of the year, in order to give myself time to figure out what I really want, really challenge myself, give myself more appreciation for the education I’m receiving, and a variety of other reasons.
I’ve come to realize that my major interests me very little. I’m getting good grades, but I’m just coasting. I’m just not truly interested in what I’m studying. Also, when it comes to ROTC, it’s quite unlikely that I’ll get the job I want, EOD, because there aren’t many officer slots at all. So, what worries me is I’ll come out of my 4 years of college with a degree that has nothing to do with what I want out of life, and 4 years of service in a job I don’t really want.

I would suggest they start with the UN (United Nations) and the CFR (Councel On Foregin Relations). I would also take a closer look at NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) and the FTAA (Free Traid Area of the Americas) I had to spell them all out because last time I mentioned them I didn't do that and a liberal got all mad because she didn't know what I was talking about . typical.

I believe it is outdated and not applicaple to todays society. It was written when dueling was still an acceptable way of settling disputes. Nobody should have the right to own a gun, it should be a priviledge that could be revoked if necessary.

At 5:40 AM trash truck( the kind that has the grabber) picked up my neighbors trash along with thier newspaper box metal pole & all. When he shook the grabber to shake the trash out the pole flew across the street hit my truck & left deep gashes. I did not see it happen but I did hear it. Paper box up before trash truck came, gone immediatly after trash truck left. Driver says he doesn't remember the incident. Private haulers refusing to return calls. I don't want my ins. to pay. I think the trash company should. Thanks in advance.
