US is spending lots of lives and money in Iraq. What's the purpose and profit expected?

The wartime budget has increased by 100 billion in 6 years. Thats the same amount that the military budget increased in the last 6 years of the peacetime clinton administration. There has been no increase in spending, only in perception of what we are spending it on.
We are spending just as much because in peacetime, every mission results in combat, which stressed weapons and vehicles. In war, the majority of missions do not result in combat, so weapons and vehicles last much longer.

There is no profit to this war. Well, not for the country, only for George Bush. His father was trying to get Saddam and couldn't he is merely setteling a score for his dad. He is an incompetent president. The people who voted him into office are just as ignorant. John Kerry was a much better choice. He had been in a war. Gearge Bush's father got him into the National Gaurd in Texas, when there were no openings, during the war of his time to prevent him from going. Mr. Bush is a coward, and ignorant in every sense of the word.
