I had to have some emergency car repairs and wrote a check but then couldn't honor it. It was turned over to an aggressive collection agency who said they would only take the full payment via Western Union. They have threatened to send law enforcement to my job and arrest me. Can they really go that far?

I wanted to become a reserve office for my local Newport Beach Police Department. I was, however, convicted of a wet reckless charge in January of 2005 and will be finishing my informal probation in January of 08. Can anybody tell me if I am still qualified or do I have to wait 10 years when the DUI can no longer count as a prior?

a percent of it.What is up with this?It sounds illegal.Most recently I recieved a very pitiful e-mail,from a man who's dieing wish is to dispatch his money to charities with my help.He says it is to right his wrongs so that God will take him in when he dies.The e-mail is touching but something smells kinda fishy.What are everyone's thoughts and or advice?And how do they get my e-mail adress?Also the e-mail is from outside the U.S.

my mother always treats my sister better than me, she gives her anything she wants, but when i ask, she treats me like sh** and she always tells me no. i am a gay/lesbian female, and thats the only thing i can say my mother just really hates about me. my sister does drugs, she hoes around, she never does anything for my mother (i'm always the one coming to help my mother out) and she stays gone all the time and doesn't like to do simple things. I believe that my mother treats me this way because my father left her when he found out she was pregnant, and my sister's father didn't . i hardly do a lot around the house as it is, but stay to myself, and clean up every now and then. what can i do to be able to move out next year? i would love all the answers i can get. i am currently looking for a job, so if anyone has any suggestions, i'm open. god bless and thank you (yes i believe in god!!!!)

Everyone wants our soliders to come home. If they didn't believe in it, why did they enlist? Now, the death toll is over the amount of 9/11 and we are billions in the hole. Makes no sense to me.

I hurt my knee 2 days before we left BCT for Xmas break. i was hoping to be healed after our 2 week vacation and ready to go back to training. but it's not getting better fast enough! i don't want to go back just to get recycled and sit in reception until the next cycle starts up. is there any way to stay home and heal instead of being stuck there for months?

I have read a number of posts that contend that Bush is a fascist. I am aware that Hitler is also called a fascist, and some of these posts say Bush is like Hitler. So precisely what is it about Bush that makes him a fascist? How is he similar to Hitler? In my opinion, he is very dedicated to the defense of freedom, which seems the opposite of being a totalitarian. It is easy to throw around these serious allegations--how about backing them up?

Personally I think I man should be held accountable for every mistake he makes in regard to an innocent life.

But there seems to be a double standard in the law. Why is a man held responsible for an innoncent life that he created when a women isn't?

Can a man have an abortion from giving financial aid if he decides he didn't want the child in the first place? Why should a man be forced to care for a woman and child he doesn't want? Clearly this is something that only a man can decide for himself and only men can understand.

Aren't these all the exact same arguments pro-choicers give for abortion rights?

Once again. If you get pregnant (or cause a woman to get pregnant) you should have to live with the concequences. It's about personal responsibility. I know you hated the word when you were a kid but its time to grow up now.

I mean like calling Bush a Nazi, and saying horrible things to people because of their political beliefs? Look; I don't hate democrats or liberals or whatever. But why can't I at least get respect for being a human? Its bad enough that the media tells all these lies and bullshit! The media is a pile of **** these days! I am very Bi-partisan. In fact; I intend to vote for a Democratic canidate who happens to be from my state if he chooses to run! But this bashing **** is getting way way too old! We act like a bunch of school aged kids rather than responsible adults!

My great-grand parents set up a trust fund for me when I was ten years old. They gave my parents paperwork on it at the time it was purchased, but that was long ago. My great-grand parents have since passed, and my parents have no idea where the paperwork they were given is now. There are no family members who would have known about, much less had access to, this trust fund.

It was purchased in the state of Florida, in either Santa Rosa or Escambia county (most likely Escambia). I have searched probate court records in both counties to no avail. Does anyone know how I could find information on it?

If a killer was to kill a pregnant woman, and her fetus the killer is charged with two counts of murder. If this is the case why are abortionist not charged with the same crime? I mean does the law only apply to certain people? I dont get it!

Just recently been notified that at a recent meeting of the Board of Directors that a motion was unamimously pass requiring that all condo owners that all windows in the complex be covered by black sunscreens. All owners have till May 2007 to comply, then the Association wiil make arrangements to have them installed and the cost wiil be added to the homeowner account. Does the HOA have a right to do this?
