The United States military kills people to protect your @$$ and let you have the freedom to make comments like this! If we were like Saddam we would be killing our own people.....So think next time you try to compare.

Are you SERIOUS?!?! Good God in Heaven, some of the things people say on YA just astound me. There's so much wrong with what you said that I hardly know where to begin. Yes, quite often the military does kill people. Kill or be killed is a necessary part of combat. I wouldn't say the military kills people "all the time", though. It should go without saying that the vast majority of one's time served in the military is not spent killing people. At least I thought it should go without saying, but you apparently need to be told that, in fact, many jobs in the military are non-combat positions and it's quite possible to serve one's entire military career without killing a single solitary person. As for killing Saddam, the American military didn't carry out his execution--he was handed over to the Iraqi government and they took care of that particular chore. I don't find it hypocritical in the least.

The military is not killing Saddam. The Iraqi government and legal system has decided to use the death penalty on him. We captured him and turned him over to the Iraqis two years ago. It's not our baby anymore.

There are war crimes that the military can and are tried for if they step out of line for the rules of war. Saddam was killing innocent civilians on purpose.. how can you compare that to the use of most militaries these days?

Don't quite understand the question.
But had Saddam invaded and overrun our country, then our leaders would be in jeopardy of the same fate.

Kinda like the way things of this nature go.

We're not killing Saddam, nor is our military. Saddam was tried and convicted by his own people. The U.S. military is only holding him so he can be tried. Within 30 days, Saddam will be handed back to his own people who will execute him.

The military kills people who are attacking them while the military is attempting to free people.
Saddam killed people just because they didn't like him and protested against him. So, in effect, they were killed for speaking their mind.

Saddam put people in torture chambers and dripped acid on them from the ceiling because they were organising opposition to his rule.
This would be akin to the republicans killing any and all democrats and torturing them because they oppose republicans.

Are you just trolling?

Hey, Saddam made the Bushies mad. He should have done what Bin Laden did, and got in good with the Bush Royalty.

That's why he hasn't been 'caught' yet, he's relaxing at Bush's ranch.
