Does anyone know how long is the I-130 petition process, they send my files in Vermont. Anyone has a familiar case or not? Please let me know. Thanks

It takes up to 90 days. If you are filing for your husband or wife you will receive a letter indicating that the petition has been approved and you can file the I-485. If you are filing for a relative in a certain category. You will receive a letter indicating that your application will be held at the visa center until a number becomes available.

I'm not sure how far into the process you are, but what I've been told is it just depends. A large part of what you are waiting for is all the people that have gone before you. Sometimes we see cases that come back in a month and sometimes they can take years to come back. Again, I'm not sure what part of the process you are in, but I would say call the Embassy and ask them to give you a time estimate. [Though, I'm pretty sure they tell you not to call until a certain number of weeks go by.]

I sent my forms to Vermont and it took 2 years for my husband just to get his visa.

when i did my husbands 130 :
1. they send you a letter saying that they recieved it
2. they write you telling you what documents you need to saen
3. send them asap!
4. they write u saying they recieved ur documents
5. then it takes about 3 months for them to process ur application
6. they write you and tell u if u were approved or denied
