I mean like calling Bush a Nazi, and saying horrible things to people because of their political beliefs? Look; I don't hate democrats or liberals or whatever. But why can't I at least get respect for being a human? Its bad enough that the media tells all these lies and bullshit! The media is a pile of **** these days! I am very Bi-partisan. In fact; I intend to vote for a Democratic canidate who happens to be from my state if he chooses to run! But this bashing **** is getting way way too old! We act like a bunch of school aged kids rather than responsible adults!

Well I agree that it shouldn't be against the law to Bash. I'm just saying that I wish we could respect each other more! And not call each other NEOCONS and NAZIS.

Well free speech does not endorse slander either! which is why alot of states have a law against it. But sense its so hard to prove; it can only be solved in courts. Just like I can't go up to a police officer and call him a "NEOCON" or "NAZI". I could go to jail for doing something like that.

The problem is that most of the people posting this stuff i.e. NECONS and Nazi remarks, are either children who think it is funny and they say the words they see on this site or on the Internet somewhere and think they are "cool" or truly uninformed people who do not know the meanings of the words...You have people like Chucky Lucky who cut and paste off of far left wing websites and take those site as being true...if what they say is really right Chucky boy would be in one of those secret prisons right now with electrodes hook to an appendage...the problem with today's society is that people want quick and fast answer or an answer that is along the same lines as what they think...they do not want to do their own research...it is easier to go to a impeachbush website and get what they want or they watch Comedy Central (I love South Park)...it is hard now a days to get the real news because most media outlets lean on way or another...hell CNN showed a video of a terrorist killing American soldiers, the New York Times leaks Top Secret information...that is very close to the meaning of Treason...I support free speech, it is the right of every American to say what they feel, but a lot of people on this site want to call you names...I live by the saying, "...name calling occurs when the person has nothing intelligent to add to the conversation..." Because if the country was really corrupt and the President also, these people saying bad things about them would be no where to be found...go to Cuba or North Korea and say something bad about the government...I never call anyone names, because I usually have something intelligent to say...I think a lot of these posters forget the definition of insantity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result...I see the same questions by the same people every day...it is getting old....

I admit to bashing, but I bash in response to soapbox oratories that are in opposition to our wonderful country. I don't like anyone who chooses to exist at the extreme edges of any political view, and have a difficult time tolerating most Liberals.

It may come as a surprise to some but I don't like it either. We are after all a nation of nations and there will always be differing views about things. Our society is degenerating into one of little tolerance and that is probably supported by respect for the penalty of law if we were to resort to violence to uphold our individual views.

There is definitely a lack of respect for most things in this country because we have had it easy. Can you imagine anyone getting away with the way things in general are done by folks these days, around the beginning of the 20th century?

For the most part there was a greater measure of dignity and respect and even some elegance to the way people conducted themselves. I know that there was no tolerance for other peoples in those times and there is no excuse for that. Perhaps what we do these days is the price we pay for growth. It isn't the end nor the beginning. It could just be a part of a greater process.

I'm sry you feel that way, Bush is walking on very thin ice as I see now, today, he's stepped on too many toes. I'm a 50yr old female, and I've watched the news for a long time, sry, haven't got Alzheimer's yet, "thank God", so I remember past events and can associate it with the events of the present and can see why there is so much annimosity. Once this Bush administration is out, I'd like to see how much money will be left in the coffers, 330 billion towards the war (with intention to spend more) and yet Katrina got 1 billion, my! oh! my! what a wonderful day! so what, who cares let them spend your money and watch them come bite you for more. Yet people in America deserve better treatment, start it at home then hope and pray you can extend beyond.

Humm....Good points. Sir,

But you fail to see the root of the issue. It is here this Forum. It is very easy to be ugly and ruthless when hiding behind a computer keyboard.

I have never truely been bashed in public for being a Democrat. It is my choice and mine alone. You will never find what you seek here in YA.. People think they are being cute and funny. When really all they are doing is making themselves look stupid.

yesterday a question was posed to the effect of: Since President Ford died, how are the liberals going to twist this around?

I mean really let it go.

The only way to fix the issue on YA is not to answer or play the game with the name-bashing.

Lets all agree on everything, that way we won't have a problem. I voted for GHB, and Clinton twice, Gore, Kerry. I like McCain and Obama. It's frustrating to me that we voted in a guy ( I didn't) who is not very articulate or intelligent. Why? Because he is tough? Because he believes in God? The anger I feel about this is bottomless. I have bashed before, and I'm trying hard not to now. People are pissed because we ALL have been had, and we are going to pay for it. I stopped watching the news the day after 9/11. Profit whores who make money off of bad news. You and I have more in common than you and Bush or me and Clinton. Whoever wins in 08, lets get it back on track brother.

Very true, but it is human nature. If you look back at the politics in the early days of this country you will see the same thing. Jefferson was vilified. The bashing is what caused Hancock and Burr to shoot at each other. Politics can be a dirty game and those that don't like that will only get hurt. Sad but true.

Dissent is the exercise of the muscle of democracy. Stop exercising, and that muscle will atrophy.

Don't get me wrong. We need to stop treating fellow Americans as our enemies. But that doesn't mean that those who disagree with American policy should stop voicing their opinions.

Edited to add: Uh, Neocon isn't really a slanderous term, any more than Liberal is. People like Bill Cristol and Paul Wolfowitz happily refer to themselves as Neocons, and the Bush Administration follows the Neocon protocol more than any other. If you don't like what the Neocons have done to your political affiliation, blame them, not everyone else.

You are right, but they don't and will never get it. People who believe that they are good, and the other side is evil will never learn to compromise.

The Bush as a NAZI tangent is a perfect example. Bush may be a Fascist, but Fascism and Hitler's Germany are not equitable. Just because the current President believes in a political/economic system once used by a tyrant, doesn't make him an anti-Semitic genocidal lunatic.

People have always bashed the president - I don't think that necessarily has a negative effect on the country. I do agree that there is way too much bashing of other parties...but I don't think that's new either. People are just a bit more vocal now.

initially, i do no longer think of human beings could be bashing. by utilising that I mean call calling and crude. besides the undeniable fact that, if what you mean is problematic Christians of their faith, then i think of many Christians ask for it. once you profess a concept in something yet can not provide a rational reason with some variety of empirical data and yet decide on others to settle for and have faith it, you have opened the door to being challenged. And Christians are the numerous first human beings i've got seen to initiate calling human beings ignorant simply by fact they ask for some form of information different than "simply by fact it truly is interior the bible." there is not any empirical data that the author's contained interior the Bible have been something yet uncomplicated human beings attempting to make experience of issues the suited way they knew how 2000 years in the past. Why i might presume that students of that era are greater enlightened or reported that at present's is previous me. in case you pick to quietly prepare your faith and it enables you to be a greater effective guy or woman, then bless you and save the religion. If that faith skill attempting to legislate anybody else's ideals or habit, then i'm going to combat you each step of how.
