I'm not talking about proud parents. I'm referring to folks in here who talk like they served in the military because some uncle did, or Dad was in WW2, or a brother went to Nam. That's bullcrap. Join up or shut up.

Conservative columnist George Will: "The transportation bill's cost, honestly calculated, exceeded the threshold that the president had said would trigger his first veto. (He is the first president in 176 years to serve a full term without vetoing anything. His father cast 44 vetoes. Ronald Reagan's eight-year total was 78.) In 1987 Reagan vetoed a transportation bill because it contained 152 earmarks—pork—costing $1.4 billion. The bill President Bush signed contained 6,371, costing $24 billion. The total cost of the bill—$286 billion—is more, in inflation-adjusted dollars, than the combined costs of the Marshall Plan and the interstate highway system."

If they take someones life, they deserve to die. It's that simple. Don't give me the crap about "How is the death penalty any different from a murder murdering his victim?". So me killing a innocent person would be the same as me killing Bin Laden? They are both the same situations, right??
Plus I am not wasting my tax money to help a sick freak continue to live his life.

I'm a senior in highschool, next year I will study criminology in Uni. I was just wondering if any women out there find becoming a police officer hard, how the job takes a toll on family, and most importantly: DO YOU KNOW ANY WOMEN ON THE K9 UNIT!??

I love dogs and have always dreamt of becomign a K9 officer; however, I've heard from a K9 guy that the testing to be in the unit is really hard, only about 1 in every 20 K9 Officers is a woman...

Conservative columnist George Will: "The accumulation accelerated in December 2003, when the Republican House leadership held open for three hours the vote on adding a prescription-drug benefit to Medicare. The time was needed to browbeat enough conservatives to pass the largest expansion of the welfare state since LBJ—an entitlement with an unfunded liability larger than that of Social Security.

The punchline: "The president's only believable veto threat in nearly five years was made to deter an attempt to cut spending by trimming the drug entitlement."

And yet Bush supporters complain about "liberal" welfare programs? Give me an effin' break!

If the Dems loose the Senate now or in a few Months is there a possibility they could screw up and loose the house as well. They have a long history of screwing up election, just look at John Kerry with his foot in his mouth again! Howard Dean can be counted on for...well being Howard!

What do you think the chance are?

Seriously, I mean there isn't one day when people aren't being killed there and it's been on the news every single day since it started.

I know the Vietnam War was very similar, but the War in Iraq is the 1st war started in the Information Age, where nearly every American citizen can know almost as much about the war as the soldiers fighting in it.

Furthermore, this may be the most politically divided our country has been in its history (except maybe before and during the Civil War), so I'm wondering if this war has divided our country more than any other U.S. war (again besides the Civil War).

(Examples:
"This is God's land"
"There are no borders in heaven."
"God doesn't see legal or illegal.")

but then they ignore the scripture that says we should follow the laws of the land?

Can someone give me the bbc.co.uk link which refers to Tony Blair promising the Nation that "whatever our troops want, our troops will have"

The speech was made recently - certainly within the last 3 months but since re-formatting my computer, I have lost the link which was saved in my Faves :-(

The speech was very clear in his meaning.

I ask the question because of the absolute shock of a young Marine being killed this week in Afghanistan allegedly by small arm fire even though he was wearing a UK issue "flak-jacket"

Many thanks
