If the Dems loose the Senate now or in a few Months is there a possibility they could screw up and loose the house as well. They have a long history of screwing up election, just look at John Kerry with his foot in his mouth again! Howard Dean can be counted on for...well being Howard!

What do you think the chance are?

If the Dems lose the senate, it's only because one Senator will die, and the GOP governor of South Dakota would appoint a Republican. The dems can't "screw up" and "loose" the house, because House members are replaced by special election, not appointment.

It's not very likely. The Senate is pretty much evenly divided (49 Democrats, 49 Republicans, 2 Independents who tend to vote Democratic... in fact, one ran in the Primary and was an incumbent Democrat). Their advantage in the House is greater. A number of them would have to die or be thrown out of the House and replaced with Republicans to make a difference.

The odds? I don't know... one in 2.7 million (just pulling a number off of the top of my head... if you were to research how many members of the House have lost their seats during their term and been replaced by a member of the opposition, it is probably more like one in 999 trillion or something. A LONG SHOT.

The Dems are unlikely to lose the Senate, since Tim Johnson is recovering, and does not have to give up his seat unless he actually dies. If the Dems were to lose the Senate due to his death, it's still not likely they would lose the house, as they have quite a few extra seats there - it's not particularly close to a 50-50 split.

They can't screw up the house for another 2 yrs at least, and just because one person is appointed to office does not mean the whole nation is turning against the dems(who haven't even done anything yet).

If a republican is appointed then it would be in reps favor b/c Cheney is a tie breaker.

The only chance that the Republicans can take over the both Houses is if some of the dems get sick and are incapable of serving anymore. Chances of that are slim to none.

They aren't actually going to lose it. If Senator Johnson is
unable to return to the Senate, and a Republican takes his
place the numbers will be 50 Democrats and 50 Republicans.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and have a nice day.

Thank you very much, while you're up!!!!

Well, if you are representing the Republican constituants, then I think the Democrats have nothing to worry about.

LOSE: To not win; to misplace something and not be able to find it.

LOOSE: Not tight
