I'm really confused. All I ever hear about is the invasion of Iraq. So, if Iraq is something else, then what is the War of Terror? Is it just rhetoric? Is the War of Terror the law that I have to take off my shoes in the airport security? Is the War on Terror Constitutional? Please, help me out!

I am in the first hiring stage of becomming a officer, however one thing is in the back of my mind that's made me apprehensive since I wanted this career path. One of the questions on the app. is "Have you committed a felony and NOT been caught for it?" Well, I have. It was not a drug related , or anything that drastic, but if caught it would have been a possible felony charge, maybe a misdemeanor since I have no record at all. It was about 4 years ago and I know it was wrong and I know I F'd up but I am afraid on how to answer this question. Do I be honest about it and risk a possible chance on them investigating it since I was not caught? or be honest on the background and poly test and know that I was honest and would be honest at all costs. Is that not the idea of a poly?? Thanks!

I have not been fired yet but it seems my boss has an itching to do it. My boss does not like me and has had it in for me for quite some time.I was suspended over a year ago and that was termed "insubordination." I know that sounds awful, but I was put in an unethical situation and stood my ground which led to an argument. 1 month later my entire job was reworked into something very unpleasant and I stuck on in the hope that the restructure would fail. It's failing but it's not changing. I applied for a position in a different department because I don't dislike the company, just my manager and my job, and was denied. I was just written up last week for nitpicky reasons, some of which were actually untrue after I researched them further and printed out e-mail documentation.I signed a document indicating that I would comply with their nitpicks but I think they will find a way to fire me anyway.I am under severe distress and need some advice on whether or not I'd be eligible if fired.

With so many laws, how do cops know which ones to focus on in their enforcement duties? Why do their resources seem to be disproportionately focused on aimless patrolling and traffic citations?

are students made to say the pledge? i just want to know WHY. 'to be patriotic'???????? is that what people are going to say? or is it more like the shaping of young minds that aren't capable of thinking for themselves yet, to automaticaly love their country? who came up with this idea? why are students taught all these patriotic songs? i understand for veterans day, etc, but isnt this really TEACHING them to be patriotic? why are americans under the influence that it is america and only america that have these freedoms? Why don't people realize that virtually all the other countries in the UN have similar freedoms to us? all i want to know is why.
