I'm really confused. All I ever hear about is the invasion of Iraq. So, if Iraq is something else, then what is the War of Terror? Is it just rhetoric? Is the War of Terror the law that I have to take off my shoes in the airport security? Is the War on Terror Constitutional? Please, help me out!

The war on terror is the war on the american people. Do the math. We're wasting trillions of dollars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and americans feel less safe. More Americans died in Iraq/Afghanistan than on 9/11, so how could we be protecting ourselves or "bringing the war to them"? Also consider the fact that USA put Hussein in power and gave him weapons. USA also gave taliban weapons and financed them. Iraq had no ties to al-queda or 9/11.

finally, consider the fact that american civil liberties are being stripped with the patriot act 1 and 2, the military act, the real identity act, the homeland defense act, and all these other acts that by-pass the constitution and put power in private organizations.

war on terror = war on americans

The War on Terror is the war on terrorism. This is a universal war fought by all of the people who are fed up with terrorism. We are fighting this war by increasing security in airports, etc.. and making it much harder for terrorists to strike. The war on terror is perfectly constitutional because none of our constitutional rights are violated. Flying in an airplane is not a constitutional right, it is a privilege that can be revoked. You can legally be banned from flying on airplanes. Taking you shoes off during airport checks is a TSA security check guideline and is performed so as to protect the safety of all passengers on the airplane. You should be happy that they are doing this. Some guy a few months ago was caught with explosives in his shoe heels.

The war on terror is something Bush said so he could start crap with other countries, which, I wouldn't have a problem with if it benefited the USA in any way, but apparently, it doesn't!!! I wouldn't have a problem with the war in Iraq, if Bush would have just bombed it and got out, but, he didn't want to do that, for fear that he might destroy the oil, not the people, the oil, why can't people just face the truth?

The War on Terror has nothing at all to do with Iraq. It is against the Osama Bin Laden, Al Quada and all those responsible with the attacks of 9/11. Iraq was in no way involved.

The war in Afghanistan is part of the War on Terror. Afghanistan was the home of Bin Laden, and the base for Al Quada. The Taliban were also considered terrorists and they were the government of Afghanistan. The Taliban gave aid and comfort to Al Quada, and welcomed them in their country. There are still remnants of the Taliban that US forces are fighting today in Afghanistan.

Osama Bin Laden and most of Al Quada escaped to an unknown location after the initial war in Afghanistan. Today Al Quada has increased in size due to the war in Iraq. It is used as a daily recruiting poster for membership in Al Quada.

It is not the Dirty Little war that Bush started in Iraq That's for certain Nor a lot of the other things he has done supposedly to fight the war on terror. All Bush does is try to instill fear in the people of this country to justify his failed policies regarding the actual terrorist acts that have taken place
