Environmental laws DO NOT stifle job creation. If anything they create jobs. Environmental laws stifle profit creation. Environmental laws exist because companies are (trying to save a $) taking shortcuts and being lazy. It's easier/cheaper to dump drums of toxins in the woods than to dispose of them properly - which costs money. Ultimately this drives up the cost of goods and services with environmental implications. Car batteries, tires and used oil are examples. The laws exist because given the option companies/people won't do the right thing. They do whatever they can get away with for the least amount of cost.

Try the anti-smoking law where you live. If you don't consider that environmental then go for the ones that banned asbestos. Those are your laws so now you can do your homework.
