bad for the US? During the last Sunni (Saddam) & Shiite (Iran) "civil war" aka: the Iran-Iraq war, in which millions were killed over a decade of fighting, the West basically sat back & watched. No Al Qaeda terrorists took over Iran or Iraq & once the war ended things in the Middle East went back to normal. So why all the fuss about the US leaving Iraq & handing it over to the democratically elected majority Iraqi Shiites? The Iraqi Shiites would wipe out the insurgents/terrorists (w/o any US deaths) & the Shiite govt. would take over Iraq and be forever grateful to the US for getting rid of Saddam/Sunnis. Problems solved.

Because I ran out of room for the details . The question was "How to run for President and win ? " First on free trade I would reinstate a gradual tarrif of 6 percent per month of what the pre- FTT was, with the last month having a Increase of 10 percent . This would allow time for the stock market to divert money back into American enterprises . On bio- fuels the USA would form corparations to compete directly with other energy suppliers , this would envolve the big three auto makers in the country who are asking for government help, that would give the government leverage with introducing more bio-fuel vehicles. Americans would buy American made products if given a choice between home based products and importSealing up the borders is something that should have been done already ! A " fair " trade treaty with modified or slightly lower tariffs with Canada and Mexico .

I have been convicted of 2 DUI's, I was sentenced to 90 days house arrest and 2 years probation. After my house arrest was done. I was seen in a local bar by a probation officer. I met with my probation officer, she made me see the light. I felt it was over. Now I get a letter, 6 weeks later, that I have to go to a hearing for probation revocation. What should I expect to happen? I have no other charges, have not been in trouble. And when I am tested for alcohol I am clean

- THE GUARDIAN -

Wednesday 8th May 2035

Over Half of the Children in the USA are Home-Schooled
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Studies undertaken by the Phoenix education think-tank 'Socrates' revealed today that from analysis of national census records, over half of the children and adolescents aged between five and eighteen in the United States are now home-schooled. 'The results are much more eye-opening than we thought,' commented John Sessions, CEO of Socrates, 'our result reveals that 52.4% of American children are now educated at home. We'll be running more studies to find the cause of this phenomenon, but as of yet, results are inconclusive.'

The widespread growth of home-schooling in the US was first brought to the World's attention in the 'New Scientist' magazine, which predicted in 2006 that current trends would ensure that by 2035 approximately 50% of American children and adolescents would be educated at home.

The Phillips Administration has been monitoring the situation carefully. A Whitehouse spokesperson told The Guardian 'The President and her government are doing all they can to monitor and regulate the situation. Although one is able to educate their child at home, as is their Constitutional right, they must be aware that children need to learn certain things to become productive members of society.'

I just read this article involving law for NYPD:
An undercover officer walked closely behind Bell and his friends as they headed for their car. As he walked toward the front of the vehicle, the car drove forward — striking the officer and a nearby undercover police vehicle, Kelly said.

The officer who had followed the group on foot was apparently the first to open fire, Kelly said. That officer had served on the force for five years. One 12-year veteran fired his weapon 31 times, emptying two full magazines, Kelly said.

Bell backed the car onto a sidewalk, hitting a building gate, authorities said. He then drove forward, striking the police vehicle a second time, Kelly said.

The police department's policy on shooting at moving vehicles states: "Police officers shall not discharge their firearms at or from a moving vehicle unless deadly force is being used against the police officers or another person present, by means other than a moving vehicle."
