In some parts of the world this can become a real problem. For instence in Vietnam we used Montagnard assistence a great deal. Only problem was that there are thirty-nine different Montagnard ethnic groups, with each group speaking a distinct language. So the solution was to use a French-Montagnard "pig latten".

it is not a call for to connect, in case you get chosen to bypass on you will spend a pair of three hundred and sixty 5 days in language college over in Monterrey California. Arabic for sure is an quite coveted language, yet different languages i'm specific will purely be a valued asset.

Depends where the action is? 30 years ago it was Russian, Vietnamese and German. 20 years ago? Spanish. Today Arabic, Spanish are in high demand. Knowledge of African langauges will be the new hot need as we send more Advisors to train their militaries.

Think of the places America is now and concetrate on the places America is going. As mentioned it used to be Russian. Our field of operations dictates what Language would be in demand.

Farsi and Arabic are in high demand for obvious reasons. They need a lot of Spanish speakers but they arent hard to find, and much easier to learn.

It would be that special language only the military uses, the one where if they told you, they'd have to kill you!

I believe it would be Latin.
I would ask my brother who was in the Marines, but then he'd have to kill me.
Wouldn't it be Arabic and Latin? Since so many of our root words are Latin?

I know that the Navy SEALs have a team that speaks Spanish fluently for operations in South America.

depends on the era. meaning, what ever territory is currently of interest to the DA or DoD.

Now, think middle eastern languages and dialects. soon, I AM SURE it will be Korean and other Asian languages. Spanish is always good...

it just depends on the time and what you want to do; where you want to serve.
