And to say no, would mean your criticism of the democratic government is premature. Definitely premature, because the democratic Congress has not even convened yet. And not to mention, republicans nationwide literally prove they have no idea what the agenda of the democrats is.
My advice is for everyone to be fair and patient, and to not jump to conclusions about what democrats will do.

I think that once you have your college degree, its time to jump ship and bail out of the US with its xenophobe, homophobe, backwards mentally. They are like spoiled brats on steroids.
The US and its citizens will never change.

To Ireland or Switzerland, Norway or Sweden.

The cold I can cope with, the racist hicks I cannot.

"The biggest handout was a prescription-drug entitlement for the elderly, known as Medicare Part D, which passed by a handful of votes in 2003. It addressed a real problem: some 22% of the elderly lacked drug coverage. But it did so in the costliest way imaginable. It is not means-tested, so old people who previously paid for their own drug coverage have an incentive to mooch off the taxpayer instead. It will cost an estimated $1.2 trillion over the first ten years—making it the biggest expansion of the welfare state since Mr Bush was dancing the Alligator at Yale."

"This was less than two months after the passage of the lardiest highway bill of all time, including a $223m bridge connecting the Alaskan town of Ketchikan to an island with a population of 50."

For once, Bush gives democrats the credit they deserve.
In a recent interview he said that after talking with the new Congress to convene in January, Bush said democrats are equally patriotic as republicans.
Democrats, as well as republicans, have loved this great nation their entire lives because of the freedom and admirable American ideals.
Democrats never question the republicans' support of the US.
Republicans need to understand that the fact is, both parties are equally patriotic but simply have different ideas about how to run the nation.

Since Tuesday when the democrats won both houses of congress I have locked myself in my house because the terrorists are coming. I know as soon as I go out the terrorists are going to kill me now because I no longer have my big tough republicans to protect me. I can't even go out to get food or anything what should I do? Do you think the drug dealers and criminals on my street will help protect me now?

Here's where I'm going with this:

Everyone has different "fundamental" beliefs...
Some are fundamentally racist, antisemetic, homophobic and hateful.
Some people are fundamentally incapable of caring about the environment or other people.

Maybe it's time for American people of faith to withdraw their support from politics and keep their faiths personal and valid. And not let politicians destroy our goodness by attaching it to their unpopular and selfish ideas.

Many Americans as well as many people across the globe are ecstatic about the mandate from the American people demanding major change in policy. I spoke with some people in the Arab Quarter in Brooklyn, NY yesterday. They are more conservative in their response. I guess they dare not hope for a betterment of their predicament due to the rapacious policies of the bush Administration.

It sobered me up to a great degree. Do you think our ceebration is a little premature? should we also take a wait-and-see stance?

I think that voting should be manditory for national elections and there should be a tax implemented if people do not go out and vote. This in turn would get people to go out to the polls and vote or send in absentee ballots.
Obviously there would have to be a "vote for none" catagory for those people who do not like any candidate running.
This is how Australia's voting system works and it is really efficient.
The only ones that would probably have a problem with this are the republicans because they don't want all the lower income people voting.
