i dont think there is a statutue of limitations...the waarant will remain in play until the matter is resolved

You're talking apples and oranges. A statute of limitations is that amount of time within which a prosecutor may bring charges against you. An arrest warrant is an order that you be brought in to answer charges.
An arrest warrant generally does not expire. It is valid until you die or it is recalled.
Sorry, pal, you can keep running but it won't do you any good.

I knew of a certain person who had gone abroad to escape a couple of arrest warrants issued by the Central Criminal Court. Ten years later she came back to England and had the nerve to set up again in practice as a lawyer, assuming that the warrants would have expired. They hadn't. But somebody who was reviewing the old warrants was smart enough to spot her name on the list of practising lawyers. She was arrested in rather dramatic circumstances. There are many morals to that tale, but the one for you is that there is no time limit. It is never safe to assume that you've got away with it.
